Question for Tomb Raider: Legend

Ok, so if anybody could help me here i'd be grateful I've got to the nepal level, and it's at the bit just after I've swung across the ceiling using the magnetic grapple thingy. I landed in this area surrounded by walls, with a big cat to fight, something to collect, and right in the middle this giant buddah with a scale in each hand. When I stand on the scales they move up and down like platforms, and between them is a door, so presumeably I have to balance the scales out to open it. There's these boxes next to the scales, but I can't drag them onto the scales, or pull them using the magnetic grapple. There's no other way out. What should I do?
