honestly if they are as hardcore as you say, they will care about you and try to tell you why their religion is right. They don't want you to suffer in hell for all of eternity after all, right? Especially if they themselves believe it.
And of course, they want you to go to heaven.
honestly, i don't understand how people can be athiests. we didn't happen by accident, and we are not here by accident either, but I respect your opinion.
There is a God, i don't support any religion honestly because they interpret God in their own way. But if there really is a God out there, and you pray to him, he will listen. If you ask him to tell you the truth, he will one way or another reveal it. Through signs, angels, life experience, w/e.
It's better to believe in God and to die to find out there isn't a God, then to believe there is no God and to die to find out there is.
I'm not trying to preach here, or to bring about a debate. My point is, be open minded, you never know. You can atleast try to pray, it wouldn't hurt.

I worship a god who hates prayer. This god does not want anyone to pray, and whenever someone prays, this god condemns them to hell.
... Actually, I don't worship any god at all. But the point stands. If you don't know what God is like (and you don't, by your own admission), then you don't know what will hurt and what won't. *shrugs* Just saying.
But anyways, as for the actual topic at hand... try telling them that you have trouble believing in something without proof, and that you don't see any proof of God. One of two things will happen: they will accept it, or they won't accept it. If they accept it, problem solved. If they refuse to accept it, then you can ask them to prove that there is a God. If they can't prove it, then they will eventually have to start to see your point and respect you for it. And if they succeed in providing proof of God... well, then you should get online and spread the word to the world, because that'd be a new one.
