Trojan Virus........

I got the trojan virus and it made me pretty worried I got a trusted anti-virus to get rid of it (it spread to over 600 things out of like 80000 I guess) and I was wondering what steps could I do to avoid getting this again. Also sorry if this has been made before or if it is in the rules or something.

As long as you keep the anti-virus thing running at all times, you shouldn't have a problem.

You could also find a site that checks the safety of sites (I used the free Norton trial that came with my computer) so you don't go into a virus field.

Also, quick exit out of pop-ups like:

Our free software has detected viruses, spyware, and all of that other good stuff, on your computer. Our free software will run a free virus scan for you.

Exit out of those immetiately, and if you can't, kill them with Task Manager.

That's about it.

yeah sucks i'm outta norton right now and the only thing to stop it is a free trial I have of malware that scans and deletes viruses. Also I'm having trouble logging into youtube for some reason (I hope the hacker didn't get any of my personnal info but idk). It won't let me sign in and I can't change the password b/c it says I have a google account (weird since its never said that before and I don't remember whether or not I have a google account since I use my grandmas email). Please can anyone help or give advice. Also when I try signing into youtube it signs me into google (its weird since when I try my password for youtube as my password for google I can't enter the account in google). I'm not sure what to do.......

I've heard Avast! is a good, free virus protection.

Same problem happened to me with the Google thing. Bad news is a forgot how I fixed it. Try logging in without the @whatever.com.

Google owns YouTube right? :3
I know you can use your Google account on YouTube... Or at least it lets me so maybe try logging in with it?

After you do, (well, on my computer) it says you can't use your GMail adress and asks you to make a new account. Like I said, I forgot how to get through it.

I had to make a new account a now its working but is avast rwally free and if it is could you maybe send me a trusted link for it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks just dl'd it now I got good firewall and other things that protect and I have 2 things that protect and detect me from viruses.

Go search it on Download.com

Also never run more than one anti-virus at a time.
Also I think I read somewhere that ZoneAlarm conflicts with avast! not sure though.
