The Great World Tournament.

“A.. tournament encompassing the entire world?”

Letters had been sent, even to those who had no home. They fell from the sky. Each was addressed personally, informing the receiver that they were chosen to compete in the largest tournament the planet had ever seen, simply named The World Martial Arts Tournament. People from all backgrounds were invited to partake. Bushido practitioners, pro wrestlers, mixed martial artists, and everyone in between. They would each receive their own personal hovercraft to transport them to the arena, which was in an undisclosed location to avoid what the letter called "peeping eyes". Family members, friends, and spouses were invited to take part in what would amount to be a very large crowd.

To a warrior honing his skills in the forest, this seemed like a dream. Endlessly he trained; again and again pushing himself, breaking those glass walls that held him back from being the best. The letter was tattered by now; he had received it three months ago today... which meant that today was the day he'd be transported to the grandest stage of them all. He tightened his scarlet headband and shouldered a bag full of goods before looking up to see an oddly shaped aircraft hovering above the trees.



She was just a young girl, fresh out of high school. Her dream was to train with her idol, one of the duo trained by Gouken, a man who was revered as a god among men. She wore a headband like his, the same gloves as him. She even cropped her hair short like his; what started out as idolization had transformed into an obsession. When she received the letter, she knew he would be there. This was a tournament pitting the best against each other, after all-- and her idol was the definition of warrior. She adjusted the bow on her high school outfit and exited out her small home to meet a landed aircraft in her front yard, with men in black suits at the pilot position.



... Neither of them knew what dark motives lay behind this massive gathering.



Characters:

Name: Ryu
Age: 30.
Height: 6'2
Weight: 255 lbs.

Weapons: His fists, his ki, and his training in martial arts. His style has no name; his master had no name to give it. It is rooted in assassination styles, but has gradually mixed with more refined techniques such as as karate, judo, and tae-kwon-do. His ability to infuse ki into his arms and legs provides sturdy and almost club like weapons in the form of limbs. He is able to concentrate short bursts of his ki into an almost solid form.
Techniques: Shoryuken, the “rising dragon fist”; Hadoken, the “surge fist”, a projectile made of his ki; Tatsumaki-Senpu, the “tornado whirlwind kick”; Shinku Hadoken, the “vacuum surge fist”, a more charged and powerful version of the Had&333;ken; Shin Shoryuken, the “true rising dragon fist”, a much more powerful version of the Shoryuken where Ryu becomes engulfed in flames; Metsu Hadoken, the “destructive surge fist”, and Ryu's most powerful move. It is the most powerful move in his arsenal and requires a large charge time, but with destructive results.
Personality: Ryu is the epitome of determination. He stops at nothing to push himself further than he thinks he can, and due to that, he attracts a lot of negative attention from those seeking to acquire the powers he's gained over the years. Due to his several years of solitude, he's grown rather rocky in terms of personality; once he loosens up, he's a normal person, but his tough demeanor is a side effect from having nothing but himself to keep him company for all that time.
History: Ryu is the definition of the lone wolf street fighter. His stern determination to become a master of his fighting style has inspired many fellow martial artists. His training is his life and he will do whatever it takes to perfect his technique. When Ryu was a boy, a master martial artist named Gouken adopted him. The young boy grew under Gouken's care, learning this unnamed fighting techniques with his best friend and fellow student, Ken Masters. Once Ryu turned 23, Gouken deemed him ready to leave the dojo and test his skills against the best fighters in the world at the the first World Warrior Tournament. Ryu won the contest, but the championship fight with Sagat, the Emperor of Muay Thai, was brutal and released Ryu's dark power (called the Satsui no Hadou) from inside the warrior. Though he came out victorious, Ryu was still troubled by the experience and became unsure about his own powers. It is only after the words of his best friend Ken that Ryu began to understand that there is still much he has to learn about himself and his fighting style, and that drove him into training mode and exile so he could perfect his techniques.

Name: Sakura.
Age: 18.
Height: 6'0

Weapons: Her fists, and her ki. She has a self taught imitation of Ryu's techniques, and was even able to get the Hadoken right on her first try. Over a short amount of time, she has been able to even perform the Shoryuken, although she can use neither of the moves with as much power as her idol. What separates Sakura from Ryu is her blazing speed and technique; not only can she hit you quick, she can hit you where it hurts. Although she doesn't look it, she's quite the tactician, and uses that to set more powerful moves up while distracting her opponents with weaker ones. Her only weakness is her low defense, which she makes up for with speed and offense.
Techniques: Sakura's fighting style is similar to Ryu's, with her having memorized his movements and trained with Dan, a previous student of Ryu's sensei, Gouken. Her moves are as follows: the Shoryuken, the “rising dragon fist”; Hadoken, the “surge fist”, a projectile made of her ki; Tatsumaki-Senpu, the “tornado whirlwind kick”; the Karu Ichiban, a surge of kicks set up almost instantly, and topped off with a crushing blow to the neck; and the Haru Ranman, a more brutal form of the Karu Ichiban where the opponent is kicked several times before being thrust kicked into the air, and finally brought back down with Sakura's heels in their spine.
Personality: On the exterior, she seems like a normal, bubbly school girl, but this isn't the case: underneath her soft exterior lies a hardened young lady, and although she's not the strongest, she'll do anything to prove herself, especially to Ryu. She's spent quite some time actually journeying around the world hunting for Ryu, using her own funds.
History: Sakura is far from your average teenager. After witnessing her idol, Ryu, win the first World Warrior Tournament, she was instantly inspired to become a fighter he would be proud of. She traveled the world in hopes of persuading Ryu to train her, but is turned away when he confesses that he himself has much to learn and cannot take on a pupil. Now word on the street is that a new fighting tournament is starting up and Sakura enters with head held high, hoping to see Ryu once more.

Contimplating putting in some of my newer characters I've been kicking around. Nah, let's stick with the classics.

Name: Beet
Age: 17
Height: 5'8
Weight: 115 lbs.
Weapons: Beet carries a simple spear he made himself. Standing a little taller than himself, it's a basic deisign with a spearhead and a blunt end. Beet also carries five saiga, or spirit weapons, within himself. The Excellion Blade, a sword saiga made up of the divine power of light, The Boltic Axe, a huge axe made of the divine power of thunder, standing a full foot taller than Beet. The Crown Shield, a shield about as tall as Beet and amout two feet wide made of the divine power of water, it is considered to be the strongest shield in the world and is even able to reflect some attacks back at the enemy. It can also change form into a large iron ball. The Cyclone Gunner, a gun saiga made of the divine power of wind, this gun shoots bullets of wind. This gun can also change forms into a sniper rifle-like form to shoot a long-range, super compressed shot. And the Burning Lance, a spear saiga made by the divine power of Fire, generally Beet's favorite.
Skills: Beet was trained in the art of the spear, but he's no stranger to other styles of fighting. He can link his soul to his saiga, making him very powerful with the saiga, as it works with him to help defeat enemies. Each weapon has their own powers which Beet doesn't even fully understand yet.

Personality: Beet is almost always in a good mood, and is easy to like, since he can always make a joke, even in the heat of battle. He almost never cries ever since when, at the age of about 10, he promised that he would never cry shamelessly again, right after losing his brother and friends. Now he only cries when happy, and other than that, his happiness almost makes him way too stupid.
History: Beet lost his brother and the rest of his brother's team when he was a kid to a powerful vandel. Now he's a vandel buster, and now the Zenon warriors fight along side of him in his fights, has become more in tune with his saiga powers now and and he is trying to master the five saiga those powerful warrior left behind, but it's been tough. He has four teammates: Milfa, Kissu, Slade, and Poala. He has been in a deadly battle with vandel's, the horrible monsters of his world who "Killed" his brother and his team, for many years, currently, he's trying to eliminate the last of their kind, a few 7 star, highest ranking vandels, one 8 star, their king, the one who attacked Beet's brother's team and won, and their creator, The Eyes of Darkness. When he got his note for this tournament, Beet was torn between his need to keep fighting, and his need to keep training. When the time finally came, Beet got in the hovercar, and headed out for the tournament.

Name: Sky
Age: 21
Sex: Female
Height: 5'7
Weight: 112 lbs.
Weapons: The Sword of the 4 Winds. Sky collected this weapon and used it to save her world, and continued to use it. It's an ancient weapon shaped with a curve somewhere between that of a kantana, and that of a scimitar, colored a very light shade of blue. This blade is infused with the power of wind, and has the ability to control the wind and use it for different attacks. This sword also has small vents all over it than open when she has it out, and close just before striking to make it glide through the air as if it weighed nothing. Sky also carries two daggers on the back of her belt.
Skills: Sky has blinding speed, so much that if she pushes it as far as it can go, time literally slows around her. She can move as fast as light when she's sprinting all out, however, this tires her out in about a minute of sprinting. She also seems to have a little more trouble slowing down than Fan, but she's improving. She can also control wind currents and bend light into attacks at will. The sword she carries allows her to use special wind abilities, North: Pain, South: Barrier, West: Illusions, East: Binding. She can also combine these winds into more powerful and advanced attacks, but this takes much more of her power to do so. She fights with a rapid style where she attempts to do many small attacks, believing that damage to an enemy would multiply that way. Her favorite attack is what she calls the "Hurricane of Pain".
Appearance: Sky has flame red hair, tied back into a ponytail with a few strands of hair hanging in front of her face. She wears a light blue T-shirt with a white trim. She also wears tan trousers with a loose red belt. Her sword is kept in a form-fitting sheath on her left hip, and her two daggers are kept in sheaths on the back of her belt.
Personality: Sky has an upbeat and friendly presonality. She likes to make friends with anyone she can. She dislikes arguing, so always tries to steer conversations away from that direction. Despite being a fairly attractive young girl, she isn't very interested in romance. Despite her being kind at heart, she enjoys fighting as a sport, and for other reasons as well, and will not hesitate to fight if she must.
History: Sky got her sword just before killing Flame, the evil king of her country. Since then, Sky has been trying to find out the secrets of a powerful power she holds within her, and expects that the vortex would help her control it. Her best friend is Fan. They're not very alike, but Sky believes she gets along with Fan since opposites attract. Sky is also known as The Girl who can walk on Air, she grew up in a small town not known to many. Her mother was killed shorty after her birth, and she never knew what happened to her father. Most of her powers were found out during her long struggle against Flame, and all of her true abilities may not even be fully revealed yet.

Name: Fan Necrom
Age: 22
Height: 5'9
Weight: 121 lbs.
Weapons: A brother and sister sword combination, the first is called Kimaru, the brother sword, and is a regular sized sword with a knuckle gaurd on the handle and a scimitar-like shape with, instead of one smooth blade on it, a dozen large rippers on it pointed at the knuckle guard. The blade itself is a little under two feet long. The sister is called Nardina, it is a very short sword, nearly a dagger that is held backwards and used for defence. It has a single, straight edge to it and has a chain hidden in the handle that can be used for a long distance attack. The chain is coated with a special darkened paint that makes the chain nearly unbreakable, and, even if broken, Fan can run her dark energy through it to make the chain repair itself. It's unknown how long the chain actually is, since Fan never seems to run out of slack while using it and can make it snap taunt whenever she wishes. Both were used by her mother until she was killed by Flame, and then were later found by Fan.
Skills: Fan has incredible speed, comparable, but slightly slower than Sky's. She can move a little faster than the speed of sound and has master explosively accelerating and decelerating. She has control of darkness and lightning. She is significantly (Physically) stronger than Sky, but her strength isn't really too impressive in general. She's a little stronger than many normal humans, but she still isn't really all too powerful. She can also use her dark or lightning energy to power her swords for a short period of time. The chain of Narina is actually made of this dark energy, in far. Lastly, she can move fluidly when using her sword combination, almost as if she's one with the swords. Her technique with them is based around kill hits. She uses her swords to get the opponent into a position where dodging is difficult, and then aims for a vital organ. Her Fabled techniques are the Darkness Lightning, and the Spider's Strike.
Appearance: Long black hair that reaches about halfway down her back, and pitch black eyes. She also has an open black jacket held "closed" with a leather strap. The jacket is short sleeved and only reaches 3/4th of the way to her hips, and with a red long sleeved top with black swirls in it underneath. She wears worn jeans, and a pair of black sneakers. She doesn't really seem to care about how she looks, which is why her hair style is simple and flat. Kimaru is slung over her left shoulder in a sheath, and Nardina is in a sheath at her right hip.
Attitude: Fan has a bit of a dark personality, but she's also kind in her own, odd way and helps people when it benifits her. She can get scary when angered, but has a gentle side... hiding somewhere behinds her tendency not to take crap from anyone.
History: She used to be one of the most feared beings in the universe, a ruthless assassin under the name Night Wave. Sky convinced Fan to give up that side of her, but that side still haunts her after all the sins she commited. She she went through relentless training, going to the ends of the world to find new ways to train and has even developed her own fighting style. She has quite a rivalry with Sky, but despite that, they're still best friends. Now she just wanders, looking for answers, about her family, and her power, but is at the end of her rope and running out of leads. When she was invited to the tournament, she thought, if nothing else, it would provide some mild entertainment, and perhaps some answers.

Name: Naruto Uzamaki

Weapons: Kuni and Shuriken

Techniques: Shadow Clone Jutsu- Summons any amount of clones of Naruto,They all have his abilities and any fighting experience they gain is transferred to Naruto himself. The clones are impossible to distinguish from the real one unless the Sharingon is used.

Rasengon- A powerfull ball made of pure chakra, when it makes contact with the skin it causes severe piercing damage. Naruto can make this on his own but is even mor epowerful when shadow clones are used.

Odoma Rasengon-An even larger version of the rasengon. Requires 2 shadow clones to use.

Summoning- Naruto has signed the Toad contract, which enables him to summon toads.

Jinchuriki Forms- Naruto is the jinchuriki of the nine tailed fox, which enables him to call upon its power. When he does, the kyubi's chakra mixes with his own and it shapes itself around his body and acts like a sheild. The more tails naruto gains the more powerful he becomes but it increases the kyubi's influence over him and as a result he begins to lose control after the 3rd tail.

Sage Mode-Using special training he learned from the toad elders. Naruto has learned to manipulate Nature Chakra and can enter sage mode. Sag emode gives him increased strength and speed well past most fighters, however, it has a time limit. But Naruto leaves 2 shadow clones at the sage place to gather energy for him.

Wind Release: Rasengon Shuriken- Naruto's most powerfull attack, using his wind chakra he binds it to his rasengon and creates a shuriken of wind, when thrown it causes internal damage to whatever it hits. (Sage mode only)

Rasenrengon- An atatck that uses 2 rasengons in both hands. (Sage mode Only)

Personality: hyperactive; he is typically exuberant, easily excitable, impulsive, and suffers from a short attention span.
History: Naruto is a ninja in the village hidden in the leaves. In the beginning, he was shunned because he was the jinchuriki of th enine tailed fox. But after ahwile he gained newfriends and graduated from the ninja acadamy. During his ninja missions he developed a brotherly relationship with fellow squad mate Sasuke Uchiha. During the chunin exams they met Orochimaru, one of the sanin that wanted to take over Sasuke's body to gain the sharingon, which would help hima chieve his goal of learning all the jutsu in the world.He marked himw ith the curse mark and told sasuke to join him. Sasuke tried to resist but eventually gave in to his desires. He left Konaha and joined Orochimaru in order to gain enough power to kill his brother, whom had murdered his entire clan. Naruto has vowed to bring him back to konaha. He decided to join the tournament to imrpve his skills.

Weapons: Sieg doesn’t have a main weapon, details as follows.
Skills: Sieg is a Swords and Arts Master, one whom is able to wield any weapon with exceptional skill and has classed hand to hand combat techniques. Upon memory, he is able to craft any man-made weapon from the Ether that he wields. He has great physical, mental and spiritual strength, classed agility and speed, and the instincts/senses of a seasoned veteran. He has an array of powerful offensive and defensive techniques that he has learned with Ether, both in weapons and arts. He still can’t quite get the Ether to stop acting out on it’s own, because it likes to imitate a lot of things.
Personality: Sieg is amazingly modest, especially for having the strength that he has at a young age. He is quite lazy as well, he does the bare minimum most of the time unless it requires more. Otherwise he’s a great guy to talk to, laidback and such. But in serious situations he gets just as fierce as the next guy.
Appearance: Sieg rocks a elegant black coat with golden thread lining similar to Auron’s http://www.ffcompendium.com/art/10-auron-a.jpg The Coat has a silver emblem of a spider on the back, which represents true Infinity. He wears heavy metallic thread jeans, black knuckle gloves, steel biceps bands on both of his arms and black combat boots. He has brownish skin, light brown eyes and has short black hair that he keeps in a neat buzz cut fade. History: Sieg grew up with a great family. Both working parents, he got his powers from both his parents, whom were also great users of Ether. He’s the 3rd child of five. He’s no prodigy, though he is talented. Ether is always changing, so he must adapt to it as well. Sieg belongs to a special bloodline, called the Irion. They take on the appearance of a human being, and are normally darker. What defines them are the special crystals embedded in their foreheads. Sieg was on his way to his homeworld, until he was encassed into this tournament.

Two of the small hovercrafts landed in a secluded area near a large stadium that looked like a football stadium, with the exception of being twice as large but still somehow being chocked to the brim with fans. Knowing what the hovercrafts held, many of the fans yelled out and cheered, most very eager to get their money's worth. The door to one of the landed crafts opened and a platform landed to the ground to allow the participant inside to exit. After several darkly dressed men walked out and stood to the side like guards, a girl with a schoolgirl outfit on and a white headband walked out with a large grin on her face. "Oh.. it seems I'm the first person here.. that's no fun." She looked to her left and saw another craft opening up.

Again a few sharply dressed males walked out, before a bare foot hit the platform and began walking down until his feet hit the concrete floor of the outside of the arena. His white gi, with the sleeves ripped off, looked unusually stainless; his red headband flicked with the small breeze that seemed to always flow around this strange place. The girl's eyes lit up.

"I knew you'd be here, Ryu!"

Three more hovercrafts quickly appeared. The first landed close to Ryu and Sakura. It opened, and a young black haired boy stumbled out, tripping on his face. "I wake up the weirdest places, I swear." The boy muttered, standing up and dusting himself off. He reached into the craft and pulled out a spear. He strolled over to Ryu and extended his hand. "Hey there, name's Beet."
The other two landed close by as well, each opening to reveal a woman, one with red hair held up in a pony tail, and the other with longer, black hair.
The black haired girl snickered as she stepped out. "Man, this place is a dump."
"Come on Fan," The red-head replied, "this'll be fun, just relax."
"So you say Sky." Fan mused.

Ryu was busy looking around at his surroundings, trying to get a feel for the area. Something just seemed wrong about it; it seemed so man-made, he didn't like it. His train of thought was derailed when a young man walked up beside him. Ryu kept his arms folded across his bulk chest; he didn't even bother to look at Beet. "Ryu," was his simple reply. Heavy footsteps were heard rushing toward Ryu, and Sakura skidded beside Beet.

"Hey, little boy, I'm supposed to be the one to greet Ryu first! I'm his future pupil, after all!" At that, she simply attempted to flick him off by sending a gloved palm to the side of his face. Ryu just ignored them both and stood unmoving, like a statue.

Beet was sent tumbling to the side, one of his nostrils bleeding. "I'll never understand girls." He grumbled as his eyes continued to spin from the impact.
"Oh ho, very nice!" Fan said, clapping slowly as she approached Sakura. "However, I doubt you impressed your 'master' very much by beating up a young boy with a surprise attack."

Sakura turned to see a girl at her side. Competition for Ryu's attention? Her eyes narrowed, but she let out a small smile. She got into a fighting stance, and thrust her palm forward. "Thrusting your ki in the form of an invisible force is an advanced technique that is usually only learned from Gouken, Ryu's master. I was able to do it without that, just by studying you, aren't you impressed Ryu?" Sakura smiled genuinely.

"You had to touch his face to knock him back. I was not considered a master of it before I could take a man down from fifty paces." Sakura looked deflated. "And I wouldn't be using any techniques outside of the tournament, either. You're letting everyone see them." Sakura's head sunk, she felt like an idiot now.

Another hovercraft landed near the group. Out stepped a figure dressed in an orange and black jumpsuit. "Naruto Uzamaki is here!" He shouted.

Sky looked at this newcomer with a horrified look on her face. "Uh, Naruto, was it? I think you're standing on... I'm sorry, what was your name again?"
A gurgling sound came from below Naruto.
"Right, I think you're standing on Beet, Naruto."

Naruto looked down. He stepped off Beet. "Erm how did you get under me?" he asked.

Beet stumbled upwards and dusted himself off. He looked over at Sakura and shuruddered. "You don't want to know." He replied.

"SO does anyone know when this thing is starting?And where i could get some ramen?" Naruto asked impatently.

Name: Ryku
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Weapons: Sword of the Logardion, Kunai, Shuriken, Jutsus, Smokebombs, Poison Needles, Senbon, Ryuuzan, Explosive. Ryku's summoning contract is with cats of all kind. Ryku has over thousands of jutsu at his arsenal due to him traveling the world at age 18, although he has shown and performed only 150-200. Some of them include Chidori, Rasengan, a mixture of both which he calls Raigeki, Water Dragon, Shadow Clones, Shadow Clone bomb implant, Shadow Dragon, Shadow Barrage Fury, Blood Dragon of Darkness, Water to Blood Conversion Jutsu, and many others. He uses a sword with a blue blade which can rebuild itself using blue chakra if broken.
Appearance: Blue eyes, short red hair which is spiked at the front, and white skin. Black ANBU tattoo on left shoulder and black Biju tattoo on his spine between the shoulder blades. Navy pants and sleeveless shirt with leaf symbol in red on the back and a smaller version in the front on the left chest. White bandages on both arms from wrist up to the elbows. Black chinese dragon tattoos circling around arms, it's heads is on the top of hands and the tails on the center of the upper arms. Body is muscular on an average level. Leaf Headband is strapped on his waist.
Personality: Ryku is a kind and active spirit, but in battle he is cunning, aggressive, tactical, and will stop at nothing to win and protect his comrades. He's full of sarcasm which can get annoying to some people.
History: As an infant, his parents where murdered and he was badly injured. An unknown figure saved the boy's life by implanting a tattoo holding a 10-Tail Dragon Biju, Ryuuzan. Ryku was taken in by a group of assassins from the hidden Mist after the massacre that he survived. The assassins discovered Ryku's seal and used him for their own needs. Ryku killed the assassins at age 5 after they forcefully made him sprout the 3rd tail. A group of Leaf ninja discovered the weary child in the forests a few days later. He was taken in by the 3rd Hokage to master his powers. Ryku became Chuunin at age 14 and a member of ANBU at age 15. At age 17 he was cast out from the Leaf Village by Danzou's orders. A few months later, he was ranked Missing-Nin and 1 criminal in the world. In his travels, he befriended Vipra. Ryku, according to his records, has committed no criminal acts in his life. Ryku hopes to win the tournament and as a result regain the respect from the ninja World that he lost that horrid day.

Tailed Beast Information:
Ryuuzan is a shadow beast and allowed Ryku to manipulate Shadow and Dark Chakra to form jutsus. Ryuuzan is demented, blood-hungry, and insane and with each tail unlocked, Ryku attains some of that personality.

Base Stage: Canine teeth are razor sharp.
1st Tail: Finger nails sharpen, tattoo grows to be visible at neck of shirt.
2nd Tail: Reptilian eyes, and signs of lizard like skin, tattoo reaches neck. Increase in strength. Ichigo-style Hollow mask forms on left half of face.
3rd Tail: Tattoo spreads across face to form tribal looking markings, Wings grow.
4th Tail: Tail grown. Tattoo spread to arms and thighs. Strength increased drastically
5th Tail: Black chakra submerges body and takes the shape of a dragon.
6th Tail: Black chakra takes a definite shape.
7th Tail: Eyes, bones, and claws develop.
8th Tail: Muscle Tissue forms along with fangs.
9th and 10th Tail: Yet to be discovered.

Transformation can be reverted and stopped by stabbing Ryku in the center of his Biju Tattoo when it is still visible. Wounds heal quickly just like Naruto's Nine tails. In 4th Tail, any wounds heal immediately.

She has a boa constrictor, named Fang, clinging to her body.
Personality: Vipra loves toying with the hearts of other men. She is a constant playgirl and serious flirt. On the battle field she uses her appearance and feminine side to get the advantage and reacts aggressively.
History: Vipra is a notorious criminal. She traveled the universe robbing planets and killing those that stood in her way. By the age of 20 she had reached her momentum. She became was number three on the 'Most Wanted' and a multi-billionare. She went incognito and met Ryku. Vipra takes herself as his superior but both she and him know that Ryku highly outranks her in battle. Not much is known about her childhood past. When she received a letter to join the Great Tournament, she decided to take the chance and regain the fame she lost and catch the attention of men again.
