Today, while going to my school's senior night game (we won 13-10, btw), I heard a station playing "Little St. Nick" while tuning the radio. The next song was the grinch song. Why? Why is it Christmas on Halloween? I thought it came the day after Thanksgiving. Are other stations doing this too or is it just where I live?

I haven't heard anything, but when I was going through Wal-Mart the other day, they had all their Christmas crap out...I think it's rather ridiculous honestly.

Are you really surprised? Stores, TV, Radio, etc. Always start with the Christmas things as early as October.

People try to milk the holidays as early as possible. I haven't heard any tunes, because I rarely listen to the radio.

Yea some places like walmart do it ridiculously early but mainly the whole Christmas hype starts on Black Friday

My city put its Christmas lights up two weeks ago. I facepalmed.

I remember last year our city's outdoor mall put up a giant Christmas tree and had it lit up with millions of light bulbs...within the first week of October.

^UK only. Everywhere I've lived, Christmas decorations and the like hit the shelves in early September, which is ridiculous, if only in small amounts. It seems that as soon as summer's over, the shop managers think "no more money's going to be made out of selling sun cream and sand buckets, so let's bring out the tinsel and bobbles." I never bother getting involved in anything to do with Christmas until mid-November, although once, when I was six, I wrote a Christmas List in May, pretty much just to be the first in my class to do so, I think. Liquid metal, buddy. Much better. Anyways, I haven't heard anything as of yet, but the only FM radio station i listen to are all nihilists and Sirius just thinks holidays can bugger off. But it wouldnt surprise me if people were playing the life out of feliz navidad already. | ||
