With this? Seems like a good idea in general, but wouldn't a wiping of all mods followed by the regular application system be a better idea? Mods defending their position/applying in public has always been something we weren't a fan of before. Why start now? Good to see you all again too.

Clearing them and having them reapply through the system would totally defeat the purpose here. We want much less mods with much more skill. The smods/admins are hand picking every single moderator based on what they've done so far and their application. Rich and Dennis both know that between the smods/admins, we know a hell of a lot more about the staff and the members of SC then they alone do, which is why this clean out was started. It's all being voted on and organized in the smod forum, but that's the general idea of it. The mods that deserve to keep their positions will, but we're raising the standard. Basically, it takes more than just those 2 to come up with a good moderation force.
Did you switch MSN addresses or something? Haven't seen you on forever. D;

No Im not particulary a fan of this either. But it has already started so little can be done. Whether its successful, that remains to be seen.

Niiki, how could it not be successful? We're choosing good mods over poor ones :P
As for being public, that's the point. Everybody seeing the applications is part of the deal :P
If they can't work under pressure, they can't mod. Even though there's no real pressure to being a mod.

That's unfortunate. There is/(are some) Super Moderator(s)who really shouldn't be (a) Super Mod(s). But that's just my opinion.

Bascally being done so the supermods and admins can have much more of a say as to who gets a spot.
Plus we will no longer have the link click here to apply to be a moderator, as a lot of forums just don't need one...
