I've got Christmas on the brain, and I'm thinking about installing Windows 7 on my cousin's computer. It's running Windows XP now. I don't know how much space it has, but in general, would an XP computer be able to support 7 and with about how much to spare?

You should be able to upgrade to Windows 7 without worry.

That mostly depends on how much space is on their hard drive right now. Should be plenty, but just to be sure, try and find out how much?

I have absolutely no idea. I can't ask them, they'd know ssomething was going on. All I know is that 7 takes about 20GB.
I quick checked EBay, and it looks like the average is 40-60GB. I don't know if that's completely off and they're pumped up XP computers, but it's my best guess. I'm done here. Living over at thepurplecube.org as n.d. if you wanna say hi.

I think that sounds rightish...I imagine they should have plenty of space for pictures.

Yeah they're right. i got it x64 version, fast start up and runs fast no matter how much space you take up, it should only take up 6-8 GB upon install. but worth it.
