@Ministry: What's industrial Metal?

Is it true Rage Against The Machine are back and Touring?

Lats I heard Morello was working with Street Sweeper Social Club (Technically just him and Boots Riley) exclusively, But I don't really pay that much attention to RATM anymore.

I do, however, know they played/plan to play a few shows in celebration of the overwhelming recent success of the track "Killing In The Name Of" (which I hope we all know) in the UK. Whether or not that measn they're going to come back together and tour, i don't really know.

Also, the quoting double post was force of habit.

Nirvana. System of a Down. The original Aerosmith. Sometimes I cry at night wondering what happened to these legends. Then, I remember the presence of drugs in today's society.

Kurt Cobain was manic depressive and System didn't agree on a lot of things. What does drugs have to do with those?

They made those bands great.

I hate knowing I'll never see Pantera live.

Baleeted

Also, Ministry is in fact a band. Beautiful Industrial Metal with a hint of insanity.

That stupid pointless rule is still around? Ugh

Anyway yeah. Saw one of their last shows at Metalcamp. Bloody awesome

Yup, no one likes it because we all want our precious one word puns.

I've never seen or met them, but Ministry is way up there in my favorites. And my guitar teacher knows their bassist, 'course that doesn't do anything for me.

Their last bassist was the Static X bassist. Their bassist before that died. Which one?

And if you think a one word post is a "pun", you've obviously never been outside this forum. Answering "ministry" pretty much says all that needs to be said

To be honest, I really don't know. The conversation was short and I didn't really nose any further. For all I know he was messing around; but I'd like to believe he was telling the truth. Iirc he said this one wore an overcoat and smoked a lot, but don't they all?

There was a lot of drug use in the band for a long time. Al Jourgensen was the only constant member, so there have been a few bassists over the years.

I think if he mentioned the former bassist, he might have mentioned Killing Joke as well, so yeah. Don't know. Could have been someone before that

Yeah, too vague to tell really.

Speaking of Ministry, though, Prong is coming through here soon - Are they good live, or should I pass on that?

I'd go. Yeah. Definitely

Another band that would be good to see is Shadow Gallery. They've never played a live gig. Studio only band

Shame that Mike Baker passed away a couple of years ago though. The new vocalist is apparently pretty good, but damn

Sublime tried to get back together with a new singer not long ago. But the name was trademarked by Bradley, and they ended up getting sued by his family for trying to perform under the name Sublime.

It would be rude to NOT mention them Thumbs Up

I would say Death as well, but unfortunately there's no way to bring Chuck Schuldiner back to life

Thumbs Up Damn right. Symbolic gets a special mention from me as well. In fact I don't think there's a single album from them I didn't like

EDIT: Ooh. How could I forget Arcturus. The way some of the ex members are talking though, it seems like it could happen soon

System, Rage, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers (I heard they broke up, haven't confirmed this), Offspring (dunno if they are together or not), Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and Stone Temple Pilots.

Not sure if all of the above are broken up, but I'm positive on some.

Signature by me

Chili peppers lost Frusciante (but have a new guitarist), Offspring are together (saw them last year), and STP are getting back together iirc
