Let's say for some reason, I needed to convert a coaxial cable into an rca cable... Anyone know a way to do that cheaply?

Trying to hook up a Slingbox with RCA quality? First you need a Potato, a hamster and a steel hamster wheel, put the Coax cable into the Potato and then put the Coax Cables at the top (White), bottom (Red) and opposite (Yellow) sides from the Coax Cable and it should work, now you may go watch the hamster.
No, but seriously . « Last edited by zeldafan11 on Aug 8th 2010 » Sir Alex, the Ruby Knight of Everlasting Life |

I'm pointing out since people don't understand, RCA cables, unless other wise stated mean the normal RYW not, the green blue orange or w/e it is.

A single "F"-type connector coax cable can be adapted by a dedicated "F"-to-RCA plug. I have a few myself. Try Radio Shack.

Thats not really what I'd think of as being possible. I've spent a few hours of my time doing stuff with co-ax. If you strip it you'll notice it only has the one wire that supplies the audio and video. Unless you can somehow find a way to split the audio from the video then I don't think it's in any way possible. Sorry dude.

I go by what he said. My answer is correct. I have doing this for over 30 years. I know coax cable. You can take a "standard" coax cable (such as that which your cable TV uses) to use RCA connectors by using an adapter. I even have adapters that let you take a coax that already has RCA plugs and allow you to use it as an antenna cable; the reverse of what he stated he wants to do.
