If a solar flare did indeed knock out power. It wouldn't be permanent. So it's hardly as serious as the end of the world in its entirety.

You wouldn't if you lived in Finland/Sweden/Poland/Swizterland. Whatever that regions called collectively. Winters there are worse than your summers I'd bet.

Usually summer tempatures are around 70-80.
And in the winter 5- -15 fahrenheit, so yeah I'd be more worried about heating.
Btw it's more like Finland/Sweden/Norway and maybe Iceland.
