Why'd You Choose That Name?

Recently I was asked what my account name meant. This got me thinking just now that I've seen a lot of interesting account names so I was just interested to know if you had a reason for choosing the name you chose.

Here's my reason:

Name: AK GMAN14
AK is the abbreviation for Alaska, which is where I'm from and despite the confusion isn't from the guns. Gman comes from my name Gary, just taking the first letter and using the fact that I'm a man. 14 is just how old I am or in the future, how old I was when I started it.

Had a screwed up childhood. No real important reason for choosing this one, I guess.

Knights Of The Old Republic had something during the name input where you can press Y and it'll come up with a random first and second name for you. I couldn't think of anything, so I pressed it, and it came up Caster Repner. I was playing that when I signed up to the first website I used "Repner" on

I am The Guy and 117 has to do with Halo and I use Guy117 for almost every account I have.

Well actually the Guy part came to be because my cousin started calling guy for no reason at all and it just stuck to me lol. Then I used it as my gamertag and then for almost everything else like my SC account.

I chose tegan41 because I was like 12 years old and my nephew was born around the time I joined this site. I was happy to be an uncle and chose his name as my username. Now a days, I try to go by Matthew or Bad Bieber on forums, however, but you can't change your name on this forum without making a new account so I will remain as tegan41

My friends have likened me to the character played by Vinnie Jones named Sphinx. He doesn't speak often, but when he does it's usually insightful/intelligent. He's hard to intimidate & is loyal to his friends and will have their backs in a fight or tough situation.

It's my RuneScape name, and I like simple one word understandable names.

I was 11, I needed a name I could remember. xD The password? Was qwertyuiop.

I love my 11 year old self for choosing this witty name though. <3

I was feeling Yogi that day. Since several other combinations I could think of having to do with my favoirte baseball player (Yogi Berra) were taken I decided to go with Yogi Bear, but when that was taken, I added the underscore and viola.

Anyways, when i joined i was super into Kingdom Hearts and Such, thus Keyblade, and i joined on the 21st of march, so thats where the 21 came from. 21 is also my lucky number

I think I was playing Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance around the time I decided to pull off the whole 'new alias' thing. I think, when I created this account, I had just beaten Chapter 10 (the chapter in which you recruit Volke), thought it was a pretty cool name, and went with it.

It was the name of my favorite wrestler.

And a childhood nickname.

I liked video games, AKA pokemon.

Well I was looking for cheats for Burnout 3: Takedown and I stumbled upon SC. It looked cool so I joined and made my username the first thing I could think of. I dunno why I posted it all caps though.

PSN. But why i chose a100_sausages as PSN, i have no idea. Probably thought it sounded hilarious when it said "Killed by: a100_sausages", but, well...
