On October 13th around 5:30pm, a car accident occurred at the Guangfo Hardware Market in Huangqi of Foshan. A van hit a 2-year-old little girl and then fled. No passersby reached out to help and then another car ran over her. Over the span of 7 minutes, a total of 17 people passing by failed to extend a hand or call the police, up until the 19th person, a garbage scavenger ayi (older woman), who lifted her up after discovering her, but the little girl in her arms was like a noodle, immediately collapsing back onto the ground. The trash scavenger ayi called for help, and the little girl's mother, who was in the vicinity, immediately rushed over and rushed her to the hospital.

How is the mom in the vicinity and doesn't notice her child get run over twice and now doubt scream over the course of seven minutes. I get that it's a market but damn.

I'd personally expect more as a chinese couple can only legally have, what is it 2 children?

One child, and if you click the link, you see there surveillance footage showing the child get run over and people passing by without a second glance.

The little girl was unconscious. Since that article fails to mention it, the first hit caused enough damage for her to be declared brain-dead. She died in the hospital yesterday.
Also, for those of you that aren't idiots are actually care, the first driver has already been caught.

I have heard that there are cases in China where people who attempted to help those who were involved in similar/other accidents were later sued by the people that they tried to help.
It could be a reason why so many chose not to help, but I don't know how widespread the idea of suing people that try and held you is over there.

yeah that one judge (cant remember his name) set a precedent in a case where he basically said that the only logical explanation for anyone wanting to help a crash victim is that they were behind the wheel. idiots
