Right, Serious question. Havn't played since SS and decided not to go with the £30 release price of black and white, But now I'm considering buying and playing to catch up with all the new stuff.
All I want to know is your honest opinion on the game, Is it worth buying and which one out of the two to pick?
The main story parts of it were ok, but everything after that was rubbish. For the main game, we as the player were restricted to the left side of Unova. Which was fine, what we were given was diverse, had some interesting environments and whatnot. Story was a bit eh, but I've never been a big fan of the epic story in Pokemon games since post G/S/C.
Everything post Elite Four was a let down. The entire right half of the map served absolutely no purpose; there was no continuation of any story line, nothing really happened there. It seemed to be tacked on so the developers had an excuse for players to encounter the other 491 Pokemon. It just seemed like a lot of potential was wasted, compared to other games where the bonus areas after the E4 weren't as large and actually felt like they had a point (Battle Island place in D/P/Pt). It made Unova feel empty in comparison to the other regions. Also the level gap between everything, up to the E4 was about 50-60ish as I recall, but everything after that suddenly jumped to 70. I saw no point in bothering to grind to fight on equal terms with those guys. I had no motivation to continue to explore that side of the map at all really.
I found everything amazing and loved the story and theme. The second half of the map as some cool stuff and you do have to find the sages after you beat the game.
"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
Well it's a great game in all, but I'm forced to agree with some of the opinions on the story. Otherwise, it's awesome, but not much else to do after finding the sages (which I already have done). Also, if only the back sprites weren't so damn pixelated...that's still a big letdown for me.
The game was very weak to be honest. It feels like it was rushed and was just much easier. The story was weak and the pokemon were weaker. There are maybe 5 good pokemon in the game. I don't recommend unless you have nothing to do.
once you get past all the holes there are in it,(which is more than freakin Swiss cheese), it's a pretty fun game. i would say wait for a price drop than go for it. P.S. i thought the story was good, all the holes i'm talking about are pokemon design/amount of legendary's and a couple other things i can't really explain in one post.
Pure Win.
