I never really understood why the site went inactive, maybe its because of the lack of publicity because that is how i learned about this site. I actually saw an add on yahoo about the site and decided to check it out. It just felt like at one point we were so active and at a great peak that it was as good as it could have ever gotten. It just sucked it went down like that.

Just a lot. The site was awesome back in the day. I remember the '05-'06 days. Good gawd it was people everywhere. Never missed a beat. I just wish I wasn't 12 at the time and was stupid that got myself banned.

It was definitely fun. I mean wow, were there heated competitions for moderator spots, and the thing is you really really had to work hard for them. I really think what helped destroy the activity on this site is the give away of too many super mod spots. When site was at its peak we only had 2 super mods. People ego;s took a hit and most left in anger. I do think that played a part in the inactivity. I wish we could get back to the old times and have the older people back, but thats almost impossible now.

Rebuild. Find new people who can make a legacy to the site, make it improve somehow.
But that is what actually killed the site. Too much power was going around. People were getting banned and everyone was hating on each other from what I saw when I last left. I came back and people were a little more laid back.

And really, there was no competition at all for mod spots. You applied, and 95% of the time got the position. Competition's a lot tougher now than it ever has been.

Every forum had like 5 mods, and then when we created the hubs they each had like 6. I was on the first team of mods for the Pokemon Hub I think. And when a forum got to what, less than 3 moderators? that "Apply to be a moderator of this forum" link would show up. You'd then type up a paragraph of crap, wait 3 weeks, and boom you're a moderator.

Yep, and even though Hub Mods were created, it didn't stop the individual forums from keeping the same amount of Moderators. It just meant more Mod spots to go around.

I remember in 08 or 09 when I became a Moderator for New Members, the same night I applied. But what you said, now its tougher. I like it being tough
