I've died in many of my dreams and I'm still alive. Why do people say if you die in your dream you'll die in your sleep? And have any of yall died in your dreams and woke up alive?

I think it's just such a rare thing to die in a dream, that people say it's impossible. Most people wake up before they die, because they're, in a way, scared awake. Most people don't -want- to die, so most people are scared of it, sorta. Even if someone says they aren't afraid of death... it doesn't mean they -want- to die.

I must say I have had some rough dreams in my days, many were on the verge of death. I don't recall actually being killed in my dreams though.

I don't usually remember my dreams, and when I do they aren't very violent or anything. I used to have dreams about falling from high buildings, I was and still am incredibly afraid of heights, but I would wake up just before I hit the ground. The closest I think I have come to dying in a dream, other than that, is when I once had a dream that someone broke into our house in the middle of the night, but I don't remember being hurt or anything, it was a long time ago.

In my dreams, if i do die, or am right about to die, i usually wake up and jump up and hit my head on stuff, so it isn't really fun.
I think that while it is possible for you to die in your dreams, it wouldn't happen very often. I've never stayed asleep to the point where i was still dreaming after i died.

Well, I die and then its like I'm watching myself from a third persons point of view. Its quite weird actually. And sometimes I'll end up being another person or the whole scene in my dream changes. I've only woke up when I died like twice.... I think. :/

I've come close to dying in a few dreams. In one, I had my hand mutilated by some crazy neighbour, and in a more recent one I was with a bunch of people in a restroom held hostage by a group of ruffians and due to be shot execution-style.

I had a dream that another race of people were lining us up naked, placing us one by one on the ground and injecting us, wrapping each person in a white sheet and rolling the body away.
When it came to my turn I told them that they werent going to kill me, they couldnt, that I wouldnt let them. The man who was controlling the line of people promised me that it wouldnt happen. I lay down, he injected me and it all went dark.
When I woke he told me that he promised me. But as I looked around I saw a pile of human corpses....then I woke up.
Thats as close as Ive gotten.
