There needs to be an option to close your account if it is unused. I don't use this account and need to close it myself and there is no way other than to ask an admin. This needs implementation I believe, also can my account be closed?

I think this has been asked before, can't remember.
Any particular reason? Why not let it fad into obscurity? ![]() | ||

Is there any real difference between it being unused and closed?

This is a good idea, we'll try to get it implemented.

This has been suggested before, and wasn't it always said it wasn't needed? :S

I can think of a few problems with implementing something like this. Given my understanding, which is that there would be an option to ban yourself, it seems like there would be a problem if somebody banned themselves and decided they wanted to open and re-use their account again. Also, it would create a problem if someone's password is guessed or something else happens that compromises their account since it would allow whomever accessed their account to ban them. Although if we're going with the argument that it's your own fault if your account gets compromised, then that problem isn't really an issue.

If there's an issue with people getting banned and recreating accounts, why not add an IP restriction and just do IP checks regularly?

Or if it's a concern even, cos it was brought up.

Or it could be made so that an Email is sent to your Email address, giving you a confirmation link and telling you that if you really wish to delete/ban your account then to click the link, but if not just ignore the email. That way, if that situation were to happen they would be able to ignore it and know to change their account's password. Edit: And to undo this, should they ban or delete their account, they would just have to log back into their account or something to that effect and choose to reactivate it. « Last edited by Keyblade21 on Jul 4th 2012 » ![]() Avy & Sig credits go to Lelouch Lamperouge Want to join in the chat?
