Nothing lasts forever

So as of the 20th of October I've been a member here for eight years. I've been a moderator since we've had moderators, and I'm pretty sure I'm currently the longest serving super moderator, probably the longest to serve in the position ever.

Obviously my activity hasn't been very robust the past year, and that goes in hand in hand with the forums themselves taking a much less active turn. I know that we have decent activity on the video game boards these days with guests posting... but at the end of the day I don't know who they are. Without a username to connect me to them, they don't mean anything in the grander sense of building a community...

Or in SC's case, rebuilding the great community we had. Maybe I could help do that, but I honestly don't know if that's something I could be bothered with at this point. Eight years is a long time, I think I'm ready to officially call it a day.

The funny thing about outlasting every one of the friends you've made over eight years is that when it's finally time for you to go... who do you say goodbye to?

Mike, Nikki superbird, Crossy, hell even Derek I suppose: It's been fun, and while I might be forgetting people, yours are the names I think of first.

I could imagine doing this years ago back when I had an entire crew of people I'd need to say goodbye too... but now, not so much. Whether or not the forums find their legs again, I know that unless Cez, Jaffa, Stu and the FF/RP crew were to come back, I'd never really enjoy it again.

I guess the only old dog of the original moderation days still around now will be Crossy. I'm not saying I won't drop in from time to time, but that's all I do these days anyway, I guess I'm just making it official. I made it eight years, have so much SC history crammed into my brain I'm surprised I can even remember half the things I'm taught at University.

I'll probably check back in and talk with anyone I know who posts here, just to make it a little more personal, but other than that, it's been fun guys, cya.

Worst birthday present ever.

I was waiting for this, since we haven't seen you around a lot. It's been fun TV. I still remember the day in staff where you pretty much told me to go cry in a corner for not having my way. It'd be awesome to see you go ballistic on all the guests that post like morons.

You enjoy life. And try to remember the majority of things at Uni.

Haha, I can remember it as well, if it makes it seem any better, you aren't the only person I've said similar things too over the years :P. Hell there's probably been plenty of moments I didn't get my way and wanted to go punch a hole in the wall of the corner

Test. You almost killed the Vicar joke. I could predict what everyone would do. Everyone but you, that is.

A few months before I was demoted, you said something like, "What's the point in demoting him if he can hack the powers anyway?" I expected that to stay the same so there would be opposition in upper staff. You didn't, though. You agreed with the demotion and got rid of my controversy idea.

I have a feeling you still disagreed with me being in upper staff, even when I got to the point where I could hack accounts. God it was fun taking Rich's account for a joy ride. <3

It's a hell of a thing, being here so long. It's sad to see you go, man. Makes me wonder how long I'll be able to stick around :p. Anyways, it's been great posting with and getting to know you, even if activity's been a bit low. Hopefully you pop in occasionally.

Despite the fact you & I never really spoke.... ever, I certainly say I appreciate and admire you, and the role you've had in shaping SC. You'll certainly be missed, and if SC & the forums ever do reach a high point for activity above what it's been the past year or two, I can say with certainty you're one of the few members that no-one will ever come close to replacing.

The sad thing is, a thread of this nature from such a legendary member of the SC community would have in the day, and deserves to have piles upon piles of posts of well wishings. Just goes to show. :/

Even though we never really clicked (we didn't clash either but, n'yea)I'd like you thank you for helping to build a quality community where I had a great amount of fun, and created numerous memories. SuperCheatsLAD.

It's been a pleasure working with you both as Moderator and Super Moderator in the past, and I was delighted to still see you around when I started regularly checking these forums again. Best of luck in everything you do, TV, and thank you for everything you have done for this site!
