Now our Wikis are officially online - even if they are just BETA at the moment, and may still be a bit buggy - We?re running a Most Valuable Player through December 2012 in our Wikis section:

http://www.supercheats.com/wikis

There are points attached to ALL contributions to all wikis - If there is not a wiki for a game you want to contribute to just fill in the 'suggest a wiki' field and post it off and we'll get it made asap.

You can Create new pages, edit existing pages etc... Mark will be busy sorting out the full scoring on Monday but you can get a head start, if you are interested in the competition, right now - you'll still be scoring.

The big 1st prize this month is a $150 Amazon.com Voucher.

2nd Place is a $50 Amazon.com voucher and 3rd place is also a $50 Amazon.com voucher

Any questions, please post them in this thread.

Have fun guys - You won't have to worry about me taking the lead. I'm way too busy with final exams, work, and programming PrimeLeap to sub wikis. I may do it in January when I have free time.

A wiki is a website which allows its users to add, modify, or delete its content via a web browser usually using a simplified markup language or a rich-text editor. Wikis are powered by wiki software. Most are created collaboratively.
Wikis serve many different purposes, such as knowledge management and notetaking. Wikis can be community websites and intranets, for example. Some permit control over different functions (levels of access). For example, editing rights may permit changing, adding or removing material. Others may permit access without enforcing access control. Other rules may also be imposed for organizing content.


Databases of information, kinda.

I know basically nothing about the few games that have wikis right now. I'll be knee-deep in wiki-editing if a few of the games I requested a wiki for get made.

Is it not possible for users to edit the main wiki page with a synopsis for the game?

At the moment no, but it is a change I have already requested get done. So today or during the next couple of days this should be an option.

UPDATE : We've had a few contributors that have added a couple of pages, so at the moment, the competition is wide open, definately not too late to join in. We won't run the Wikis MVP next month.

Another question: how will the scoring process work? Is it based more on length of submissions or the amount of submissions?

There is a large score for creating the page with a good amount of content in it. A smaller score for just creating a page, and a small score for editing a page.

Exact scores are still being worked out.

Something like 200 for a page with good amount content, 50 for a page and 20 for an edit... Final decisions still to be made.

Alright, Rich, I'll try my hand with this. I have little to no experience with making a wiki, though, so is there a place or link you can give me to tell me what format you want specifically? There's a few games I have in mind for a wiki.

Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Star Trek Online. The last of which I can definately make a huge wiki on.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty Black Ops, El Shaddai Asension of The Metatron,

Pokemon White, KingdomHearts 358/2 Days, and KingdomHearts 2.

Cool - a lot of suggestions, they've all been added.

There are a limited amount fo instructions if you clikc the Help link in any Wiki:

Is there higher scoring for wikis that have an immense amount of text, say 500-1000+ words?

I'm kinda burnt out from all the typing I've done the past hour and a half. x_x

Getting an error when accessing a wiki. Says site isn't redirecting properly when I click on an individual wiki.
