Hey Guys
After searching around for a long time and trying a lot of different options I've cracked it. At least, it works for me!
1. set sims planting something (I always do beans whilst sending the pre-teens off to study/perfect their hobby)
2. double click the home button and close the sims
3. on settings, switch on airplane mode
4. Go to Date and Time settings and set it to April
5. Make sure wifi is turned OFF!
6. Go back and open up the Sims - It will tell you that you cannot connect because it needs wifi
7. Go back to settings, and, keeping it on airplane mode, turn ON the wifi.
8. Go back to the sims and it's done!
Just make sure you go back and turn off airplane mode and set time to automatic again afterwards.
Hopefully this works for you xxx

Note: You MUST wait for the wifi to be connected properly in settings before going back to the sims, otherwise it will crash

Sometimes it doesn't work the first time, but if I go back (being sure to shut down the Sims app completely when I'm trying again), turn the wifi back off (keeping the Airplane mode on at all times!), go back to the sims, and then go back and turn the wifi on again, it works! Just need to play around with it a bit.

I am using the ipad 3rd generation. Don't know about other devises. It's not an ideal, sure-fire method but seems to work for some after some determination and a few re-tries.

wow! it worked!!! this is the only cheat I could get to work, I'm new to this game, playing on iPhone 4s.... wish there was one for LP Lifestyle points! But Thanks for the help!

Only worked once. After that tried it again and the app. keep crashing after turning the wifi on again, even when wifi is already connected.

Only question is that after I go through the whole thing and go back to the game, even after I've turned the airplane mode off and set the automatic time back to "on". I still have to exit the game and double click to close it in order for it to show that I have neighbors. ( My neighbors are through Facebook) Any idea why that is or how to fix it?

Yes it's working!!!but no more free lp before my old cheat giving me 10 lp every time I do time cheat ... But thanks anyway
