Homework.

So what do you think about homework? Could you put up with it, was it annoying, was it just the WORST THING EVER, do you still have to do homework or is homework finally over?

Meh, homework is something I may do or may not do. It doesn't really affect my studying. Some subjects I may do it for out of sheer boredom, but usually I wont even bother. Doesn't really make a difference

At this stage in my life, I'll do it if it's relevant and I've something to gain or practice. The teachers don't really care anymore

I didn't care for it, more annoying than anything

I saw it as a big waste of time and a way to keep kids from getting into trouble.
Here's work that you have to do instead of having fun after school.


At least with college some people give it out so you can practice or retain whatever your class was, but also you didn't have to do it.

I never did it since 5th grade. What I didn't finish in class I forgot about.
Sometimes I'll do homework now, since college is a bit different and the classes are relevant.

If you guys are talking about studying, that's not what I meant. I meant when you have to do work at home, not studying.

Anyway, I hate homework. I get it every day and you can't just forget about it at my school. I usually have to do homework on the weekends as well.

I despise homework.. especially online homework

I've hated homework all my life. I know it really helps because it helps you retain the information and that ultimately helps you when test time comes around. I don't understand why they have Algebra and Geometry. I mean yes math is important but when will that come into practical use in the real world? If I don't know the measurements of something than how will algebra help me figure that out? It won't. There is no situation I can think of where I will be missing one measurement and have one or two others and have to find the third one out. If I don't have a tape measure or a ruler then I am screwed. End of story.

Explain to me how Algebra/Geometry does anything for us. Are they just filler courses because we need to do something involving math?

You need to learn algebra/geometry for the next math related class.

I don't see the point of having homework. And also, one of my teachers said she hated the idea of homework. From then, we've got heaps of homework from her!

I don't like the idea of homework because it's just as easy to seperate the class and figure out who can do it there. Work the curriculum around that. Now stuff like research papers and what not yeah go do that outside class but those twenty math problems might as well do in class, even if yoi don't help them. Just tell the students you want to see what they can do in by themselves so you can better teach them. You'll have way more results than assigning ot to hw where I'm liabpe to not care or copy cause I nees the points

Homework isn't horrible.

I bet if we didn't have distractions like computers, the internet, phones, tvs, or anything like that we would probably look forward to it because it would give us something to do.

Good point. I can't concentrate at home. I could get things done so much quicker but all those things you said distract me.

But homework IS horrible when you absolutely need to do something but you've got to rush to finish homework.

When I was little my parents instilled in my that homework is to be done first, and you can play later. I still live by that rule. Unless it's something where I'm given multiple days/weeks to do it, then I procrastinate.

I'm a person that just does it ASAP in case I get heaps more or an assignment. (that happened to me many times) Although I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna want to do it when the game I've been waiting years for comes out.
