It depends on what kind of 'selling' you mean.
In general, I would say the PS4 outsold the One.

It isn't completely surprising, considering it's cheaper and available in more countries. But it's a good million at least ahead of the Xbox. And I don't think either of them have been released in Japan yet (correct me if I'm wrong) - When that happens, the PS4 will obviously out-sale the Xbox in a landslide.

It's gonna be a while before I get a PS3 but I'm getting a PS2 really soon.

The PS4 was released in Japan a week or so ago, it's sold upwards of half a million there.

How come systems get released at different times for each country?

A lot of it is due to individual countries' economies.
Some areas sell more on Fridays, some sell more on Mondays, or whatever. And difference in holidays are important.
Staggered releases spread out the promotion for something, so there's a better chance of 'talk' being built up.

And I'm sure there's a bunch of crap with advertising and striking deals and whatnot. Paperwork/contract-bullsht.

And PS4 at this moment is outselling and doing well. Most of the people saying sony is a failure don't' realize it is more than gaming. Microsoft just can't keep up the PR and bad things just keep going on about it. They should have waited one more year for better hardware to last longer

Long live Microsoft.

Sony only came close to bankruptcy due to funding Bluray tech. But because they did, Bluray is everywhere. The high cost for the PS3 didn't help much, of course, but it didn't cause much loss in profits. The Bluray thing was the main cause of near-bankruptcy, to my understanding.
Either way, Sony is far from bankruptcy now. They hit six million units sold a month before they had hoped, and they're obviously gonna keep selling more - Especially when current-gen games finally start releasing.

I think a lot of times people don't realize how huge of a company Sony is, and how small a part the games division plays in the overall scheme of things. Much like Microsoft, most of Sony's revenue (and huge losses) come from other divisions of the company. Sony's TV, camera, and computer divisions are very unprofitable, and in fact they're shutting down their PC division. Sony's big profit maker is it's insurance unit, which is responsible for half it's profit.

Bluray was kind of a waste though. It doesn't pay off unless you have a really nice tv.

Bluray is far from a waste. It's everywhere now. Xbox One's have it, too, which means Sony gets a profit for every Xbox One sold. Granted, it's probably not even $5 per console, but the One has sold a few million consoles. Even if Sony made just a dollar off of each sale, that's a few million dollars in profit.
And as for the 'nice TV' thing - The majority of people in at least America, and I'd guess majority of people in quite a few other countries, own a decent TV now that -does- work well with Bluray. So it pays off quite well.
Bluray should definitely not be considered a bad investment by Sony.

Well I guess I need a new tv then.

But justified. Maniac mode was the toughest difficulty in the game, but they removed it from all but the Japanese version. It's extremely frustrating as the Difficult difficulty really isn't tough enough.

For the sequel (Radiant Dawn), they just renamed the difficulties, so Maniac mode is technically there. And it's so tough but so fun. But Path of Radiance was a better game and I want that experience.

Probably 90%+ of people/households own at least one HD television these days. Get with the times, yo.
