So... I was watching the Iowa Hawkeyes Football Game earlier today (they're my favorite college football team). They were facing Ball State. Anyway, my Hawks were down by ten points with five minutes left and only two timeouts, deep in their territory. Many fans were leaving, something that NEVER happens in Iowa. Anyway, somehow the Hawks scored two touchdowns in the five minutes and won 17-13.
I just thought I would share this. If you know football, you know that this is incredibly hard to do. I couldn't believe they won. I really thought the game was over, and our season was done (for a Playoff chance anyway).

I though it was gonna be about Justin Bieber, and that Michael was going to finally come out as a JB fan girl.
That is pretty amazing that they won though, especially with only five minutes left. How did they manage to get the ball twice so quickly? Did the other team fumble or something? Also, what were the Iowa fans reactions after their team won?

Well, in college football, the clock stops until the ball is set after every first down. It took about two minutes to score the first touchdown, since all we did was throw the ball. With 3 Minutes left, we kicked the ball deep to them. They ran the first two plays of their drive, exhausting our final two timeouts. However, they decided to try to throw on third down to get a first down. The pass was incomplete, which meant the time stopped. Their drive was only thirty seconds long. They punt (horrible punt if I may say), and then Iowa went down field for another score in like a minute.

I have a question. Why do they stop the clock? If I remember correctly, the NFL keeps the clock going unless there has been an accident or a team has called a timeout. To be honest I'm not sure why they keep the clock going in the NFL either. I'm confused on both aspects. XD
