Debate: Death Penalty

Are you for or against the death penalty for convicted murderers?

We already had this thread before; it got closed.

I was going to say the same thing.

This place has been slow lately. Let's have a discussion.

Okay then. Let's just make sure it doesn't get out of hand.

I still don't believe in the Death Penalty. Life in Prison is good enough, in my opinion.

Even for the people who kill in prison?

Sounds like we need better security.

Perhaps. They do get pretty creative though. I think life in prison but if they kill in prison they get the death penalty.

That supports my side. They were prisoners, who were transported to Australia.

Prisoners = Prisoners

Australia = Australia

But that means Australia was first for prisoners.

It was where they were sent, because America ****ed everything up for Britain. The plan was to set up colonies here & to stop the French & Russians from taking control of an area of land. That was one of the reasons why Australia federated, because they didn't want the French invading. Australia was always much more than a prison (technically it was never even a prison because it had no walls). 50,000 Australian & New Zealand soldiers fought in Gallipoli in World War 1 (you probably don't know what Gallipoli is because no Americans fought there), & about 1 in 7 died. 8,400 men died in Gallipoli, serving for Australia & New Zealand, who were supporting Britain in WW1. How many Americans died in Gallipoli? 0.

You Aussies are quick to fight. We tried to mind our own business but people keep instigating us. Just because we weren't in one of your battles or was reluctant to fight across the world doesn't make Australia a saint. How many Aussies were KIA(killed in action) in the Civil War? 0. Over 600,000 Americans but of course you wouldn't know about that because no Australians died.

I knew about the Civil war thank you very much -_-.

I knew about Gallipoli.

It's been really funny watching the constant arguing from the sidelines, and while I take sides (not saying who, but feel free to guess), I do ask you guys to seriously stop antagonizing each other. If you want to debate about a subject, do research instead of displaying the results of a google search. Most of the time there's more to a matter than what one finds within 5 minutes of research and different perspectives. And keeping bias down to a minimum allows one to learn more.

On topic:
Death penalty, in a way, seems like a easy way out, at least in the US/China/other countries that still enforce it, since the prison conditions there are poor anyway, and forcing one to stay in prison for the rest of their lives is usually more of a punishment for them anyway. Morally though, I don't really support it.
