Since I know next to nothing about it and it's teams (why is the competition split into 4?) and many of our members are American, I want to know about NFL.
Someone teach me please. I am your Chosen One!

It's like Rugby, just with WAY more rules that mainly revolve around the safety of the players. 32 teams, 16 in two separate conferences. Each conferences is divided into four divisions, four teams are in each division - mainly for an equal structure and scheduling purposes. Each team plays a total of sixteen games over seventeen weeks (one week off called their Bye Week); you face each team in your division twice for a total of six games (each one at their stadium and then at yours), two other separate divisions (one from your conference and one for the other, total of 8 more games), and then two other teams to reach the sixteen game mark. Each team has eight games at their home stadium and eight games on the road at other teams stadium [unless you are chosen to play in London (NFL signed a deal to play a certain number of games their every year to 'broaden the game') where you could possibly lose one of your home games].
Winner of each division make the playoffs, and then the two remaining teams from each conference with the best record move on as well. Two best teams from each conference get a bye week, and then the other duke it out to play those teams. Lower seeded (ranked) teams that wins the first set of playoff games play the best ranked seeds. Once your down to the best team of each division, they play in a winner-takes-all matchup called the SuperBowl.
Makes a bit of sense, but seems way to complicated. Make it simple like AFL.
In AFL you play 22 games (about half at home, half away) with 1 bye. You play every team at least once (there are 18 teams) and 5 teams twice (depends on the draw given ie the better teams often play harder teams twice).
At the end of the season, the top 8 teams play in the finals. 1 plays 4, and 2 plays 3, in the 2 qualifying finals. The winners have a week off and go through to the preliminary finals, and the losers play the winners of the elimination finals.
5 plays 8 and 6 plays 7 in the elimination finals. The loser is out, and cannot win the premiership (the thing you want) and the winner proceeds to play the qualifying final losers.
The next week is the semi finals. The loser of 2 and 3 plays the winner of 6 and 7, and the loser of 1 and 4 plays the winner of 5 and 8. The winning teams advance to the preliminary finals.
The next week is the prelims. The winner of 1 and 4 plays the winner of the 2, 3, 6, 7 semi final, and the winner of 2 and 3 plays the winner of the 1, 4, 5, 8 semi. The 2 winners play in the grand final.
To try and simply the finals campaign, here's a picture of how this year's finals went out:
I'm sad that my team didn't get there :(
In my opinion having 22 games and 4 weeks of finals with 18 teams together is way simpler than dividing the competition into 4. Anyway, thanks for that info.

Really, I don't know. The Titans were the second worst team last year, but they drafted a new QuarterBack (QB is one of the most important positions in all of sports). I would like to say that the phins should have at least have a shot, but things seem to be fallen apart at the seams. Fired Head Coach. Defensive Coordinator (Head Defense Coach) is the next to go. General Manager doesn't have a clue how to run a team. Underachieving players.
Things aren't looking good, but a win would do wonders. Get them heading in the right direction.
