Just want to put it out there that we generally need to be more flexible with rules on the site generally - Only really want to get firm with people that are abusive and threatening and generally not nice... Double posts and minor infractions don't really worry about guys... We just need more posters overall and don't want to scare anyone off with too strict moderating.
Users respect a strong-armed moderator who takes their job 100% seriously. If you're not harassing and defaming members, you're not doing it correctly.
If they talk back, send their account to the execution block. They don't deserve to post here.
I think that if a post breaks any of the rules, action should be taken. I think the moderating here is better due to the large amount of people being bumped up. I don't think things are getting out of hand (yet). Just let them get used to their new powers and it'll be better.
At a formal position such as in a work environment..strict rules etc.. are definitely necessary.
For a laid back social media site, this is not needed. This holds true especially when you're trying to promote new members.
I remember before I left some of the moderators being way too strict, almost making the site not fun or enjoyable. If spamming and small problems becomes an issue then yea enforce it, this being in a polite way.
Anything that could detour users such as hacking/phishing site links, verbal abuse/bullying, etc... should be dealt with harshly.
I dont think that would be feasible, if I put one root admin in Id have to put in the other 2 to be fair. We would then be open to someone like Forgotten_scars taking over the site in some sort of hacking mutiny.
teehee
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
If I wanted to take over the site I would have done it by now.
Speaking of who, Teams is a minefield of SQL Injection entry points. I did create a script a few years ago that would have deleted all teams, but I was feeling 'eh' about it.
EDIT: Actually the last less-than-reasonable thing I did on this site was get into KanOfCorn's account.

Dan - Lol he hacked into Jake's account and took a picture of a random guy at a computer logged into his account and posted it. Jake was and still is furious about it.
