Who remembers the novel 'It' by Stephen King? Pennywise the clown luring kids to his lair with balloons? Anyway, there's a remake on the way and the clown looks frightening to say the least, people who have phobias about clowns are going to have nightmares about this movie.

From what I can gather it's just another Hollywood remake. Penny wise the clown looks great though.

The only problem with horror reboots is that you know what is going to happen so it takes a lot away from it being scary which defeats the object of the film.

It's also pretty obvious as well when a jumpscare is going to happen. Because everything is quiet.

The best eras for horror movies was the 70's and 80's, lots of which ended up on the banned list and will forever be refered to as 'video nasties'. The horror movies of today are ruined with cgi, once you see what's happening in graphic detail it is no longer scary.

One of my favorites from that time was John Carpenters remake of the 'The Thing' starring Kurt Russell, it looks dated now but in 1982 when it was released it along with 'Alien' terrified people, movies that had that kind of suspense and horror had never been seen before. Now the market has been saturated with similar movies and people have become desensitised.

There is the odd decent horror movie every now and again but these days it's rare to seeis a build up of tension coupled with eerie music like the horror movies of the 70's and 80's, a good example of this is the first Jaws and the first two Alien movies. Nowadays it's cgi from beginning to end which just kills the suspense because once you have shown everything the game is over, your imagination has stopped working and that's what makes things scary to begin with.
