What movie is your most disappointing block buster? Mine has to be Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I think I was expecting too much and the film didn't live up to my expectations. Disney played it safe and just gave us a remake of A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi all rolled into one. Other disappointments for me include Waterworld, Catwoman, John Carter, and Zorro.
It was like they started off really well, they repaired the time line so not all of our favourite characters weren't either dead or essentially human and set off a new story line. Then decided to screw that all up by making a weird blue enemy, had Mystique simply be Jennifer Lawrence for the whole film and then laugh at themselves by stating in the film that the third of any triology is always the worst....ammmm yeah.
There was another film, not a blockbuster that was given a great write up as being funny as hell etc etc was Spy with Melissa Mcarthy. I turned it off half way through wanting to smash my fist through the tv.

Inside Out Ransom
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
I forgot about X-Men Apocalypse, that was just a horrible movie, a mess from beginning to end. It took me three sittings to get through the DVD it was so bad, I fell asleep each time. Another big disappointment was the Fantastic Four reboot, another bad movie which was a shame as I loved the Fantastic Four as a kid and this garbage did not do them justice. It was so bad it made the original effort that starred Jessica Alba as the Invisible Girl seem half decent by comparison. And while we are on the subject of superhero movies the last Spider-Man with Electro as the villain was terrible as well.
Nikki - Yeah, Inside Out was a bit overhyped. Like the Star Wars one. I swear everything is shitty now (well, films and shows for younger/mentally younger audiences).
Am I the only one that liked X-Men Apocalypse? The nuke scene with the Beethoven, Angel with the Four Horseman by Metallica, Quicksilver and Sweet Dreams. I thought it was great.
World War Z was a let down because they ignored the book. The last Hunger Games sucked. Fast and Furious needs to die.
I don't know what the fuss is all about with the Hunger Games, all those movies bored me to sleep. I agree with you on the Fast and the Furious, as for World War Z I personally quite liked that movie and am looking forward to seeing the sequel.
X-Men Apocalypse is based on what comic fans voted as one of the greatest comic book stories ever written. I haven't read the comic but after watching that pile of garbage I beg to differ, it was attrocious. The best X-Men story by a mile in my opinion is the Phoenix saga which is another story Hollywood butchered.
Everyone I know that's read the book and seen the movie says the same thing. Apparently in the book people turn into zombies over 24 hours, but in the movie it's more like 3 seconds.
~ Sometimes people change, but sometimes you just open your eyes & realise who they truly are ~
7 seconds in the movie. In the movie the zombies sprint. In the book they walk. In the movie the zombies don't eat flesh. In the book they do. In the movie the zombies avoid sick people. In the book they don't. In the movie the UN guy finds a biological camouflage. In the book the UN is just interviewing people a decade after the events took place. Every battle in the book is gone. The book was all about the logistics. There wasn't any of that in the movie.
I don't understand the fuss people make about Game of Thrones either, I'm sure most people just watch each episode in the hope they'll see some nudity in it which usually happens as half the cast are porn stars.
I liked the Hunger Games, mainly the 2nd one really, the third really didnt need to exist and the fourth was disappointing due to the ending. I suppose Philip Seymour Hoffman wasnt really thinking how his death would impact the films before mixing heroin with other drugs :( That didnt help the ending as many of his scenes were replaced with reading letters from him. Instead of us seeing what had happened, the peacekeepers turning on the dictator etc we heard about it in a letter. It just seemed rushed and lazy.
I think I might have liked Divergent if I could understand all the damn jargan
And in terms of Apocalypse I loved the bits with Quicksilver, the antagonist is called Apocalypse so whether he is based on the comic I have no idea. Besides that the film was a mess. The 2nd was far superior.
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
