What movie from back in the day do you think deserves a remake? I'd like to see a remake of 'An American Werewolf in London', with the cig available now that could be a great movie.
Lol, I struggled thinking of some myself, I think Hollywood have already remade everything that's a classic and I agree with you, most of them are not nearly as good as the originals. One movie I think that would benefit from a remake is Jaws.
Nooooo.. please don't even whisper that idea in the direction of Hollywood. Jaws is a classic. Sure Bruce isn't the most convincing shark ever. but i can't imaging the sort of green screen cgi rubbish they would replace it with these days.
Jaws has already had more sequels than should be legally allowed, rebooting it would just be criminal.

You're probably right thinking about it now, the cast in the original (Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw) were perfect for the movie and even if the shark wasn't convincing at times the actors were. What about Gremlins then? I don't think they've done a remake of that yet.
Lol, not sure that's a good idea if it's already been a flop, better of starting from scratch. I'm getting fed up with remakes, they tend to be classic movies so you know what is going too happen which can makes them boring.
How about a remake of sequels.. I really enjoyed the Matrix. pretty cool film overall. But the 2 sequels that followed did nothing for me. I would like to see someone go back and rewrite that story in a different way. not a total reboot. start from the end of the first film and see what is possible by keeping it simple.

I couldn't even tell you what the story is about in the two Matrix sequels they were that bad. I have no interest in seeing any more Matrix movies even if they are rewritten so the general public can understand what the hell is happening.
They should have left the Matrix as a stand alone film, same with The Pirates of Caribean trilogy.
The idea of using novels to make films is nothing new, thats's been going on for decades, anything that seems fresh and new has come from films or the idea stolen from a different country.
As much as the author of the Hunger Games says her idea came from flicking through the tv and seeing tv reality shows and war on tv theres no ignoring Battle Royale of Japan and the remake they did in the US.
Remakes are not the way forward but with the mix of Marvel/DC Comics, books turned into screenplays and the odd few video games films there isn't much else for them to do when just about everything has been done.
Thanx to Craizen for the sig, love ya babe, Hubby for the avi.
There must be some budding sceenplay writers out there who can come up with new original ideas and not rehash something that has already been done. With the cgi available today anything is possible, they are not limited like the writers from decades gone by with what they can do.
Remember the original film of Lord of the Rings? It was an animated film wasnt it? They didnt finish it as they didnt have the money or the resources apprently. Im going to have to look it up again!
