@danielroxheaps,it's physics, so it's both a part of science and maths. But it's not a theory of maths but of description of reality at fundamental level.
@Matt77, nah that's not true, the maths is hard to grasp but a lot of people grasp and understand. It's one of the most precise theories, the problem is the interpretation of it which a problem of philosophy of physics
@Testuser, ha afraid not, majority of my degree is more focused on theoretical Physics I have done some experiments using data from CERN like the LEP collider.
I like Jim, he is a cool guy, I had the pleasure to meet him few years back :D. I haven't read his book but it should be excellent. Might be worth checking out Brian Cox Christmas lecture btw, it was pretty decent
