Apparently everyone living in the U.K. will receive a text message on their mobile in the event of a nuclear attack. They will get the text message 4 minutes before the missiles are due to impact. All the message says is the U.K. is under attack and to stay in their homes until further notice. I'm just wondering if the U.S. has something similar in place?
Not sure if it happens here, but it wouldn't really help if it was a nuclear attack unless you had a basement (and very few houses in Australia have them) cause you'd be dead instantly.

I still remember a teacher of mine from school (long time ago) saying that if there was a warning of a nuclear attack he would get in his car and start driving towards London or any major city that was likely to be hit. He said he would rather be wiped out by the initial bomb drop than have to try to survive in whatever radiation polluted aftermath might result. This was back in the cold war days though when many believed that a full world wide nuclear war could happen.

Nothing is going to happen between U.S.A. and Russia, it's all saber rattling, if a nuclear war did start the whole world would be in trouble and anyone with half a brain cell from both of those civilized countries realises that. What needs to be done though is to keep nuclear power out of the hands of dictators from small countries like North Korea as there is no telling what they would do to cement their legacy if they had nothing to lose.
