I think we used to have a movie thread but I didn't find it. I know this isn't a movie site but I had to post this. Just seen an announcement about Bladerunner 2049. Sequel with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. Bladerunner is one of my all time fav's

Yeah, I heard they were making this about a year ago and forgot all about it. Looks like it will be released soon, I doubt it will be anywhere near as good as the original though. I'm personally getting fed up with classic movies being remade and having sequels added to their legacy thirty years later with actors well passed their sell by date, I want to see something fresh and original. The only classic franchise that has made a movie recently that has impressed me is Mad Max.

I agree with you generally about the remakes and reboots, although some have worked. I will keep my hopes up for this one though.

One reboot I did enjoy and thought was better than the original was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) starring Jessica Biel. The actor who stole the show though was R. Lee Ermey as the sheriff, you'll probably remember Ermey best as the drill instructor in Stanley Kubricks Full Metal Jacket.

Shouldn't Harrison Ford be thinking about retiring? Not only is he in the process of making Bladerunner it's also been announced there will be a new Indiana Jones 5 movie in 2019, I can't for the life of me see how Harrison Ford will be able to run through the jungle at aged 74. I suppose they'll have to cgi it.

After seeing how Princess Liea and Grand Moff Tarken where cgi'd in Rogue One I don't think it's much of a problem these days. I lay money you won't see him runnng through no jungles though, just plenty of body doubles with shots of them from behind and close-ups of Harrison Fords face.
