(First off, sorry for not being on. I can only blame life)
Well I have lots of gmails for multiple things and I checked one of them I haven't used for 2 years and it was one of those money scams.
How am I sure it was a scam? - It was marked as spam and phishing by Google - They were asking a [Under 18] boy from New Zealand to cough up to keep using his American credit card.
You want another story?
Microsoft scammers. HAHAHAA what dumbasses.
One of them rang my nana. She doesn't even own a computer.
My friend also got rang. He was a Mac lover. I was in the room too so it was even better.
Now that I think about it I've made this topic before, haven't I...
There are too many scammers these days. As long as they make you laugh you are ok though. I get the microsoft types ones regularly. It does amaze me sometimes though how much hard work goes into trying to steal your money. Not everyone has good opportunities but if the scammers worked that hard on legitimate activities they might do better.

Yeah its a dog-eat-dog world out there. Sadly alot of people fall victim to scams everyday.
I haven't falled victim to many, when I was younger I got phished from a fake mock up site... but that's about it.
Funny thing is the game Runescape basically taught me not to trust anyone (Game was full of scammers), I don't know if that's a good thing or not... Although it has kept my safe from most scams.
I can give you some good advice on how to avoid online scams.. Just PM me with your credit card details so I know you are a real person and I'll tell you.

They always spell words incorrectly and/or use terrible sentence structure. Any grammar Nazi will swoop when there is a scam.
Like if scammers wanted to be clever hire someone who went to a really posh university and people who are clever and you have yourself a good source of income. You'd think people would notice the awful scams but they don't. How will they notice the "more inventive" ones?

If I were a scammer or worked with scammers an effective system would be to have two fronts. The first is where creative sophisticated scams would be prepared and placed onto websites often visited by single middle aged to old women looking for love or a greater meaning for life. The second could be to enter the target's life as a made up person who coincidentally has a lot in common with the person so that you could either coerce the target into giving money or just simply steal things after weeks of cover.
Perhaps if life goes horribly wrong there is a plan B...

There's lots of UK ex pats living in spain making money as 'spankers', that's the term used for scammers who basically work on the phone in a rented appartment somewhere cold calling trying to get gullible people to invest in their stocks and shares which don't exist or if they do exist are worthless. You can spot them a mile away, they drive around in flash cars worth thousands and tell you they work in advertising. This is also known as the 'boiler room' scam and is estimated to cost the UK about 200 million pounds a year.
It's scary the amount of scams there are out there, the video games industry has their fair share as well with people putting together realistic looking fake sites offering to give you gems, Robux, etc in exchange for filling in a 10 minute survey. All you're doing is giving them details on how to rob you.
there's actually a government site to report stuff i believe. the link has been posted in threads like this before, but i don't know it off by heart. perhaps someone will enlighten us
