Because with the way information works and spreads now, a lot of **** pops up that wasn't before. With a smartphone and the internet in every hand, people aren't as willing to forgive and forget everything. Example, got dang flint michigan still not having clean water and the investigations on it being closed. Got dang trump literally cutting off information for food safety/epa/gag ordering actual truth reporting from news outlets cause he's sensitive to criticism. Literal Nazi's popping up because they think it's their time to spew their rhetoric. Information changes a lot of **** and keeps it on peoples mind.
