Answering Questions

On the main site, in the questions section, I notice a lot of things. Here's a list of things you should do when answering.

1. ANSWER THE QUESTION! If you don't know the answer, don't even attempt. I was looking at one question, and the answer was "Sorry, but I dont know how."

2. Please don't answer old questions to get more submissions. I went to later pages, and notice questions from 4 months ago being answered now.

3. In Pokemon, when someone asks you to rate teams, don't just say "7/10". Give some reason as to why as well.

4. If you see a good submission around, verify it. If it's wrong, Bogus it. Also rate em.

Number 3, Ive seen alot of I when I did answer to them I gave a few reasons why and thats about it.

why would you make a sub and not even answer the bloody question? idiots...

I rarely rate anymore, I only bogus submissions. But yeah, I have sene answers saying "Sorry, I don't have a clue" and the like.

I see team ratings where someone says 0/10 and don't give any reasons... they are an easy way of getting your count up, but it's just pointless and unhelpful.

Yeah, I'm not saying any names, but I saw a row of exact same rating and no info.

I never answer questions or make subs unless i feel that i can contribute something new. I'm not going to provide the same info again, I mean, what's the point of that? I might have a low sub count, but at least i know that the subs i made counted. I just wish that people would rate them more often, it lets me know that they helped. I mean, isn't that the point of making subs in the first place?

Yes I do realise that lots of people just give the same rating without anything else in their submission. When i rate team I always give reasons, even if it does sound harsh, at least I'm telling them how to improve their teams and how to HELP them.

Yeah, I think we will try to be more strict now with people just leaving a rating and no reason, we may just delete them in the future.

We also try to filter out answers that just say ' I don't know ', so if you see any of those on the site, they are usually just a mistake by us.

If I see any submissions like the ones you mentioned I'll bogus them, so they should get through to you and Dennis.

I will aswell, isn't it that a PRO submitter's bogus gets the sub wiped off the database?

Good idea to raise awareness and all that. When I used to sub I used to rate things. For some reason on my bio it says I haven't bogused any which is a complete lie. I used to enjoy bogusing crappy answers.
What about the submitters that don't come to the forums though?

^Add a little rule when they go to submit anything.
