I've found some release dates:
UK&EU: 2006
Japan: some time in 2006
USA: probably in 2006, not long after the release in Japan

so basicly, wherever you are, its probably coming out in 2006

I think it comes out 7or9months after the JAP release. I think that because the 8th movie came out in JP AUG.2005 and its coming AM:SPRING2006 March-LATE MAY

Nice educated guess. I still want it to be released this year, so I can pick up on it right away. I even have a little area in my droor that holds the money for my copy of Diamond and a new DS Lite. :P

aeon, what does 'lock' mean, and this place is not just for info, but to talk about waiting for the games to come out etc.

and also I've found this out on wikipedia:

an official statement was made February 16 at the Nintendo DS Conference Spring 2006 It was said that the eagerly awaited Pok�mon Diamond and Pearl games will be released in Japan sometime before the year?s end. This is the first official statement regarding the games since the original announcement of the games being in development. The U. S. version is still to be announced.

I want a DS light but already have a normal DS
and wont get much for it (the top screen is half hanging off)

It was released last March in Japan already!
I would know, because I've seen the release date on a few websites myself and on my recent trip to Thailand, we made a stop at Tokyo where I ran across a little girl with a DS Lite... she even let me hold it! :D
I'm not kidding about this. This is for real. The DS Lite feels great in your hands, too.
