you can... but it's not very likely. I think it's a 1/800 (8000?) chance.

Its actually a 1/8192 chance. Ive only even seen a few in all the games Ive ever played.

I have a shiny Rayquaza. It took me 23 hours of game time... I saved right in front of him and challenged him over and over again until i got him to be shiny. He's pretty awesome as a shiny though

I thought Mewtwo has a green tail when it is shiny...

There is no most common place. Its always a 1/8192 chance.

Most people never see one. My little brother saw a shiny Seaking in the safari zone, and it fled!!! He actually cried over it.
The only shiny pokemon I have seen and caught are a Nidoran, Roselia, Carvanah, Skitty, and Belossom.

I'd bet that if you wanted a green Zubat/Golbat, look through Altering Cave for the green Zubat then evolve it. The shiny Crobat is Pink...
