Can someone explain to me how site adverts automatically change depending on what country you live in. For example when I log in in England they are all in English and when I'm in Spain they're all in Spanish. Does this mean for example if you lived in Japan you'd automatically get Japanese adverts?

I get a mixture, I think to be honest it depends on where you bought your computer from. If you got it from Spain, surely it will be programmed for everything to appear in Spanish.

I don't think the computer has anything to do with it as mine is British and I live in Spain and get Spanish adverts. The Internet world must be split into different zones and depending where you are determines what adverts you recieve.

Aeshma, do you get any Belgium adverts?

It's probably English across the board for this site as the dialogue is in English. I'm sure Google, Akamai, and UGO, among other services, check both the META language of the site as well as your IP to determine which ads to show.

I tend to get American adverts. Right now, there's a Wendy's one at the top of the screen.

I'm finished here...

Special thanks to Yossy666 for the avatar and signature images.

I can't tell you because I live in America.... No offence but it seems that people have problems with Americans because of the war...

Japanese adverts! Am I right in saying that the Japanese read right to left or is that an urban legend? I once spoke to a Chinese girl in a restaurant who explained to me that Chinese writing is literally little drawings. That must be one difficult language to learn.

Well they say English is the hardest to learn, Japanese is right to left yes, but only depending what you are reading.

It's only right to left if written vertically (top to bottom). In other cases it is left to right.

I don't think English is the hardest language to learn. At least with English words are spelt like you say them more or less.

I wouldn't even try and learn Japanese or Indian, they look like the toughest to me.
