Gu Has Landed

I couldn't be bothered making a better topic title. But bassically I'm a long serving VGN member, some of you will have noticed my name flying around the forums here and there before. Been too long since I've been to the SC forums though.
Checking the old SC forums out, gettin used to the feel of the place. Hope a few of you guys and gals can show what this place is made of!

Since the start of SC back in 2000. Way before this style of SC was formed.
It's totally different these days, one reason I've not returned, and stuck with Gu(the style, plus most of the guys i've known all this time still frequent there).
Liking it here so far though.

Just gotta get used to the names now, and find out all about you lot.

Yeah, I doubt anyone would remember you here in the current SC forums.

All to do with when we merged SC forums into GU and everyone kinda stayed there after we reopened the new SC forums.

But soon we'll have the 'VGN' login so everyone can come and go wherever they want as they please.

If you like writing, then check out the fan fiction forum, and our graphics forum is pretty good too. As for general gaming we have that too in our video gaming forums.

we're all rather nice people...well most of usjk but seriously, look around and get involved in some conversations, join some teams, yada yada

I can't see anyone from GU joining a team on supercheats just yet. But next month when we have our new teams and clans section Who knows... Whadda ya say Anth

Got to get the communities bigger and better for all sides. get the VGN name across the world!

Once the login are all at work, you'll slowly but surely get some guys roaming around, and mingling with each other.

Why did I come back? couple of reasons. Firstly, SC always has a place in the heart. Secondly, Rich told us to haha.

hahah Yeah I asked the GU guys to come check out the SC forum as GU will be converting their VB to our forum software shortly, so am looking for suggestions for improvements.

You'll be happy to know, there is very few issues with the forums. lol.

That's good to hear Anth, I know they are a little featureless in parts, but we'll be adding the extras like custom titles, smilies etc... shortly, and this setup works better for us than Vb as it's exactly what we need and integrated into our site.

Five years ago I last posted here! About as long ago that I last posted on any part of VGN.
A lot of nostalgia hit me the other day, and since then I have been logging back on here to have a snoop. Very surprised (in a good way) that the old log in still works.
Seen a couple of threads where Rich and the guys have been discussing lately the next needed rebirth of the network/site should come from, and it's got me all thinking about what the network used to be like, and where I always wanted to see it go. Got plenty of ideas to be honest, and if Rich you see this then I'd be happy to send you my two cents worth. But in essence I honestly think the place overall has to condense in a lot of ways before it can grow bigger again. And also needs to adapt to the modern devices - a solid mobile friendly site/app would be ideal.

Going to keep popping back in, and hopefully get involved with the members again. Been great having a wee snoop of late.

Hey dude, I don't think I ever met you (though I was here when this topic was made). Good to meet ya. If you've got some ideas, post them either in Suggestions and Problems or in the New Staff Line-up thread in General chat. We're all ears, really. Anything to make this place better.
