Welcome to "The Oblivion News Thread". This thread will hold some of the latest information regarding Oblivion. It will be updated regularly and hopefully we will be able to call it a "database" pretty soon!

Feel free to post your own news in this thread and I will add it to this post. Also, don't let this topic put you off of making your own threads containing latest news pieces.

Oblivion News

The Elder Scrolls Online?

Wow, it seems I've been gone long enough to get my Moderator position revoked! I don't plan on trying to get it back, though.

Anyways, over the past few months, there has been talk about the Elder Scrolls Series possibly going online. These were started when ZeniMax Media, Bethesda's parent company formed a new division, ZeniMax Online Studios headed by Matt Firor, a developer with experience in the MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) field. Then, on October 25, Bethesda received a large $300 Million investment from an outside firm. Now it has come to light that ZeniMax Media registered ElderScrollsOnline.com back in mid August. It appears that Bethesda and ZeniMax are cooking something, and it smells....tasty....

Oblivion Game of the Year Edition Released

A Game of the Year (GOTY) edition of Oblivion was released September 10th. This release of Oblivion includes both Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine (but it does not include any of the other Official Mods that have been made available).

In addition, Bethesda has announced the release in October of a Shivering Isles retail disc for Xbox 360 players, that will also contain Knights of the Nine. This disc is intended for Xbox 360 players who already own Oblivion but do not have access to Xbox Live, and will be less expensive than the full GOTY edition. More details are available at the Bethesda blog.

Both a GOTY edition and a Shivering Isles retail disc have been mentioned for PS3, but details remain uncertain. Although the PS3 GOTY edition was originally due to be released at the same time as the PC and Xbox 360 versions, it is now rumored that the PS3 GOTY edition will not be made available until October.

Equipment and Spells Database Completed

A huge database containing every single piece of equipment and every single spell within Oblivion and it's expansions has recently been completed. Click here for the equipment database and here for the spells database.

The Shivering Isles

The Shivering Isles is the second full expansion to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It was released worldwide March 26th, a day earlier than expected. It takes place in Sheogorath's plane of Oblivion. Sheogorath seeks a mortal as his champion. Many mysteries await your investigations in this twisted, split reality the Prince of Madness calls the Shivering Isles. Those with the PC version of Oblivion can purchase Shivering Isles at any game retailer for $30. Those with the XBox 360 Version of Oblivion will have to download it from the Marketplace for 2400 Microsoft Points. ($30)

Should the thread about the bug be deleted since you put it here.

Keep it open. We should let it stay there for a few more days. In case anyone has a question or something.

This does not reall concern Oblivion but it does concern The Elder Scrolls. With and update from Xbox Live, you can now play Morrowind on your 360. Just though i would share that somewhere.
