Long ago, in the world of Terram where peace reigned supreme, one could travel from one of it's silent woods to a snow capped mountain and not put him or herself in danger. War was uncommon and the communities each had their own defenders, though they were rarely ever needed. Villages and towns all lived alongside one another and aided each other in conflicts or with other problems. Terram could truly be described as a paradise.
One man, rejected by his family, friends and society, hated his world, and wanted to see it perish. His name was Tomarx, and for years he studied spells and summonings to help him open the legendary gate to the Underworld, Home to the banished souls of almighty beings that had terrorised the infinite realms connected to the joint dimension. His researching paid off. In an ancient temple that belonged to a previous era he conducted a ritual, a ritual of sacrifice. Tomarx had collected pure souls drom across the lands and gathered them in one place, injured and defenceless. With one quick spell of death, dozens were slaughtered, their souls offered up to the temple's statues. Dark energy burst from each of them, and in the centre of the room a large, hellish gateway was awakened. From this portal, the most powerful beings from the Underworld would emerge and unleash chaos upon Terram. The first of these was Cataclysm, who would surely be followed by others....
Name: Cataclysm
Age: 4054
Height: 8'5
Weight: 275 lbs
Weapons: Cataclysm was once the harbinger of chaos in his own world, where he used the four chain blades of darkness known as The Reapers, capable of ripping a being's soul out from beneath it's skin. Cataclysm can control his blades that are embedded into his arms even once they have left his grasp and can use them for stangulation, torture and anything else he deems necessary.
Skills: Though he was once a God in his own realm, he lost a small portion of his power as he transcended the dimensions into Terram. Now, his powers are limited to possesion and manipulation. In other words, he is able to control weak minds and/or, force living or non living things to bend to his own will. Though he treasures these abilities, his most prized skill is his power to animate the dead or inert things around him. Though the quantity of things he can hold under his control at one time is limited.
Magic: The main elements in the world are not under Cataclysm's control. The only power he is capable of using is that of gravity to a hight extent. His magic is capable of crushing, levitating, throwing etc. and has been a useful asset to him many times during his ancient dominance.
Personality: Cataclysm is perhaps the most egotistical being that ever exsited in his own world, never believing in his own defeat and thinking that he can overcome any oppponent. Like any true evil creature, he is merciless in combat and derives pleasure from death and chaos. One downside to this personality is the fact that he is easily distracted from his main objective and will often consider his own pleasure to be more important than the mission he sets himself. Cataclysm will never take orders from anything lower than himself, though he is not stupid. If anything or anyone with similar intentions to his own can aid him in any way he will often form an alliance for his own benefit.
Appearance: A manifestation of darkness, Cataclysm is completely black apart from his eyes, which burn with a red fury. Spikes and horns cover his entire body and intimidate almost any opponent when he approaches. The dark blades that hang from his two arms float in the air above his shoulders, two on each side, writhing around as if itching for blood. The only part of Cataclysm's body, apart from his eyes, that isn't black are his four golden wings that spread outwards from his back in a cross. Though they seem powerful, they cannot be used in any offensive or defensive way for they are delicate and fragile. Their only function it to give Cataclysm rapid movement using impulsations and of course, the ability to fly. On his body he wears no clothes except for mutilated armour to cover his "weak areas" that is almost undistinguishable from the rest of his armoured skin. His body is completely muscle though this canot be seen, due to his unsymmetrical and mutated black shape.
History: Like all powerful creatures, Cataclysm was born in the joint dimension, created by the Lord of all himself. The moment he was created, he had obtained full power and shape, and was sent to the world of Martril where he rose up during the chaos of war and expelled peace from the land. For over two milleniums he reigned over the land, torturing and enslaving the human-like cretaures that lived there. Monuments were constructed in his name, and numerous powerful warriors came from him to try and stop his reign of fear. From each one, he reaped their souls and entrapped them inside his blades where they would stay forever like all the men he had slain. As the Martril resistance drew to an end, a group of powerful fighters rose up with an unstoppable power and were locked in a battle that seemed to last an eternity with Cataclysm. In the end, they sacrificed themselves, and summoned an unknown power to destroy Cataclysm and send him to back to the Underworld. In this world, he spent centuries, living in darkness with only the company of other creatures such as himself. Each of them locked in a continous fight that would never end. He also participated. Then, one day, the darkness was split open. Before him was a gateway to another world. Not knowing what would happen, he took his chances to escape from the Underworld, and entered Terram. The place where Tomarx had summoned him.
