General Forum and Pokmon Emerald Rules Overview

Basic General Forum Rules

1) Spam Posts and Topics
Spamming is useless posts and/or topics that have no meaning or contribute little to the topic you are posting in, or the forum you are creating a topic in. Examples of this might be: Saying plain "Hi" in a topic, talking about Ice Cream in a Team Rating thread, saying "djndfgd," posting topics that deal with the reality of Pokmon and such. Spam where you are welcome to.

2) Double Posting
Do not double post. If you do we reserve the right to exterminate it/them, eliminate, or whatever you would like to call it. Double Posting is spam, so don't do it. If you wish to add something you forgot, use the edit button.

3) Flaming/Vulgarity
We discourage (in other word, do not allow) members to flame. At all. Flaming includes vulgarity (swearing), or putting down another member. Examples of flaming would include: "F*** you, b****," or any other type of swearing, even calling someone "n00b" because they don't know what they're talking about is considered flaming and will not be tolerated. We do have a swear filter, but don't bypass it. Trying to do so is a bannable offense.

4) Advertising
Do not create topics for the sole purpose of advertising your forum, team or clan, and/or website. You are also not allowed to create topics for the sole purpose of advertising. Keep advertising to your signatures or don't at all.

5) Mini-Modding
Do not mini-mod. Mini-modding is when you do the job that the real moderators are supposed to do. This includes saying "Hey! You just spammed! That's not allowed." Or "Moderators, close this." We know you're only trying to help, but please, we know what we're doing and cannot be online all the time.

6) Freedom of Speech
Everyone is entitled to their own freedom of speech. You may have disagreements with others, but do not flame because of that. This includes: "Oh you dumbell! That is incorrect and you are a ***** for saying things like that," or "Anyone not agreeing with me is retarded."
We look down on such people and it is best not to act like this in order to make a good impression.

7) Bumping/Replying to Old Topics
This is not allowed. What we mean is that if you post in a topic that has not been posted in for a minimum of one month, you are breaking our rules. We discourage anyone from venturing past page one since by page two topics would probably be old. In some yet very few cases, however, we accept this, but again, we discourage this action.

8) Spelling/Grammar Usage
Ok, while not a rule persay, it is requested that you post with the best quality of spelling and grammar as possible. We are not pleased by "txt tlk" posting. Posting clearer in complete sentences with correctly-spelled words makes it easier not only for us, but for everyone else, to understand your post.

Pokmon Emerald Forum ~ Rules

1. Creating Threads
We encourage members to make threads, threfore increasing activity. But some threads are best not created, I have created a list of things not to make.
a) Team Rating Threads ~ We have a separate forum for them: http://forums.supercheats.c...rum=1685
b) Question Threads ~ There is an exception to these. You may create these topics as long as you have checked pinned guides to see if your question lies there. The thread is well-organised and all you need to do is scan the table of contents to find what you need.
c) Multiple/Duplicate Topics ~ Topics that deal with the same theme as another topic.
d) Chit-Chat Threads ~ Not alowed. Chit-Chat will lead to spamming 120% of the time (yes, 120%) so do not create them. They will be closed without question.
e) Gameshark/Action Replay/CodeBreaker/whatever Code Help ~ We have a Pinned topic for them. Post in there.
f) "How many pokemon do you have?" Threads ~ Generally pointless.
g) Your Favorite Pokmon Threads ~ There is an official topic for this: http://forums.supercheats.c...ic=42614

2. Emulation/ROM Discussion and Distrubution
No exceptions at all. If you feel like discussing go to another forum far away from SuperCheats. Emulation is illegal and is a banned topic here on SC.

3. Non-Pokmon Discussion Topics
Simple enough, if it doesn't deal with Pokmon, it doesn't belong here. If you have something to say about Sonic, go to a Sonic forum. If you want a signature made for you, go to Graphics & Artwork ~ Requests. Any non-Pokmon related topic made here will be moved to the proper forum.

1. FAQ by ShadowGX, Modified by Master Volthawk

FAQ here! Don't be annoying with unnecessary questions that have been provided below:

Q: How do you get Mew?
A: Get the Old Sea Map from a cheat device and go to Faraway Island.

Q: What about the other legendaries, Deoxys, Lugia, and Ho-oh?
A: Again, cheats will get them for you. Get the AuroraTicket and go to Birth Island for Deoxys and the MysticTicket and go to Navel Rock for Lugia and Ho-Oh.

Q: What's the best cheat device?
A: That depends on your personal brand preferences. I, myself, prefer the Action Replay since it hasn't screwed my game like the Gameshark has, but it's entirely your opinion, not mine.

Q: Where do I get those at?
A: Any local game store will likely carry them. If not, try buying one off eBay or something.

Q: How and when do I get Latias/ Latios?
A: After you beat the Elite 4 your mother (on the game, of course) asks you about a Pokmon on TV. She wants to know the color of the monster. Choosing blue will release Latios into the wild. Red will release Latias.

Q: How do I get the other one once I have the one I chose?
A: Like with Mew, Deoxys, Lugia, and Ho-Oh, use a cheating device to get the Eon Ticket, which will take you to Southern Island to battle the Lati@s you didn't choose.

Q: If I get a cheat device, where do I get codes?
A: You can obtain codes from cheat code specific sites, such as the one you are posting in right now.

Q: How can I get all 9 starters?
A: Cheating, obviously. Trading is the more common key, though. You may trade with FireRed and LeafGreen to get Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle and with Pokmon Colosseum or another Pokmon Emerald game to get Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. And, of course, trade with other Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald games to get Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.

Q: Can I trade from older games?
A: No.

Q: Who's the best starter?
A: Who's the best singer?

Q: What's the best type of Pokemon?
A: Who's the prettiest/most handsom person in the world?

Q: Why did you answer those questions like that?
A: Because what you're asking is basically the same, just with different scenarios. In other words, it is all a matter of opinion.

Q: Which game should I get?
A: You're in the Pokmon Emerald Forum, right? Get Emerald.

Q: What's so different about Emerald?
A: The pokemon have animations, you can acquire Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza without trading, you have a large competitive plaza call the Battle Frontier, and so much more conveniences that Ruby/Sapphire didn't offer.

Q: Don't you just mean the Battle Tower?
A: No. I mean Battle Frontier.

Q: Does anything happen when you get all the Pokemon in the Pokedex?
A: You get a certificate. Big whoop. Though you also get a Johto Starter from Prof. Birch after obtaining the Hoenn Dex's 200 Pokmon, excluding Jirachi and Deoxys.

Q: What can you do after you beat the game?
A: Train.

Q: When does Diamond/Pearl come out?
A: Go to the Pokmon Diamond Forum, though last time I checked these games were already out.

Q: What do you do to get the legendary dogs?
A: Trade from Fire Red/Leaf Green or Colosseum.

Q: What is an E-Reader and how do I use it on the Altering Caves?
A: An E-Reader is a card reading device that, when a specific card is inserted, generates Pokmon (other than Zubat, of course) inside the cave.

Q: How come everyone here seems to be so crabby?
A: Because n00bs like you keep asking ridiculous questions and generally get on the Gods'...I mean Mods' nerves.

3. Pokmon Guide to Emerald Version

Credit for this section goes to MasterMilotic.

Contents:
1. A: Starter Pokmon movesets
1. B: Battle Basics

2. Battle Frontier Guide
3. Islands (ex: Navel Rock)
4. Last notes

Introduction
Yes, here is your guide to Pokmon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. First off, your starter can be Torchic, Mudkip or Treeko. They will all evolve into their last evolutions (unless you quit the evolution or have it hold an Everstone), Sceptile, Swampert, or Blaziken. The movesets for these Pokmon (standard ones) are:

BLAZIKEN:

Swords Dance/Focus Punch
Sky Uppercut
Rock Slide
Flamethrower

SCEPTILE:

Leech Seed
Substitute
Hidden Power (Grass)/Hidden Power (Ice)
Leaf Blade

SWAMPERT:

Ice Beam/Rock Slide/Surf
Curse
Earthquake
Rest

1.a
How can I get these movesets for these Pokmon?

Blaziken: Swords Dance is found at the Battle Frontier, an old lady will teach it for 48 BP, Focus Punch is found on the route above Rustboro. Sky Uppercut is learned at Level 59. Rock Slide is also taught by an old lady, also for 48 BP. Flamethrower can be exchanged for coins at Mauville Game Corner (4000 Coins).

Sceptile:
Hidden Power- Old lady in a house in Fortree City.
Leaf Blade- learned at level 29.
Substitute: Lilycove Department Store Rooftop.
Leech Seed- You have to breed a female Sceptile with a male Meganium or Venusaur (it has to be one of them; a different Grass-type will not work). If you are to lazy to do so, use this moveset:

Leaf Blade
Thunderpunch
Hidden Power (Ice)
Focus Punch

Swampert: Ice Beam: Game Corner in Mauville City (4000 Coins) or Abandoned Ship.
Surf: After you beat your Dad at the Petalburg Gym, meet Wally?s parents next door to the gym. You should really know this, though.
Curse: Breed a male Slowbro with a female Swampert. If you are incapable of breeding or attaining this move, use this set:

Hydro Pump/Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake
Protect/Rest

And, that is how you get these movesets, moving on.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

1.b
Battle Basics

Super Effective: A move will do double the damage (ex: use a fire type move on a grass type, the damage will double).

Not Very Effective: A move will do half the damage (ex: fire type on water type will do half the normal damage. On some occasions, a move will be used on a dual element Pokemon, and both types happen to be immune to the move; then that will do one quarter of the normal damage).

Critical Hit: Sometimes, a move will hit a Pokmon?s weak spot. It will do more damage than normal. Moves with high critical-hit ratios:
Slash
Leaf Blade
Razor Leaf
Karate Chop
Crabhammer

Moves that increase your chance of getting a critical hit:
Focus Energy

Items increasing your critical-hit chance:
Dire hit
Scope lens

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

2.
Battle Frontier
A place where you test your Pokmon battling skills in challenges and tournaments that is unlocked after you defeat the Elite Four.

Frontier Leader: A head of a facility, these guys actually switch in, so watch out.
Symbol: Like a badge, you obtain them by defeating a Frontier leader. There are seven silver ones, and likewise, seven gold ones.

NOTE: FRONTIER LEADERS WILL ONLY APPEAR IN SINGLE CHALLENGES!!!

Facilities:
Battle Dome: Battle registering three Pokmon, and choosing two Pokmon for battle. They must not be the same Pokmon, ubers (a.k.a. Legendaries) or eggs. The frontier leader is:

Dome Superstar Tucker:
Swampert, Salamence and Charizard

To meet him, you must have gotten to the last round of your fifth tournament IN A ROW. He isn?t THAT hard, if you can guess what two Pokmon he will use.

Battle Pike: A long, narrow tube shaped like a Seviper is the Battle Pike. You will have to enter one of the three rooms, once you do, something/someone will meet you. If you complete 28 consecutive rooms to meet the frontier leader:

Pike Queen Lucy:
Milotic, Seviper, Shuckle

Don?t give Milotic a status condition, substitute against Shuckle and psychic Seviper,
You?ll be fine.

Battle Factory: A tall building where you rent your Pokmon to battle, you can swap a Pokmon with your opponent if you win a battle. Finish 21 battles in the Battle Factory and battle:

Factory Head Noland
His Pokmon are completely random, so don't ask us for help.

Assemble the best team you can by swapping, etc.

Battle Arena: There is a Referee. After three turns of battling, he will decide the winner of the round (you can not switch in this contest) on three details as stated below. A red ring gives 2 points, a triangle is one point and is delivered in a tie, and an X indicates a loss. The one with fewer points is made to faint, and in a full tie both Pokmon faint.

Mind: The ratio of offensive attacks to attacks attempted.
Skill: The ratio of successful hits to attacks attempted. Failures due to the use of Protect and Detect are excluded.
Body: HP remaining after three turns, taking into account the HP levels as of the start of the three turns.

Complete 27 battles in a row, and face:
Arena Captain Greta:
Heracross, Umbreon, Shedinga

Medicham swamps this team so good it?s not funny. It Psychics the Heracross, Brick Break/Focus Punches the Umbreon and Shadow Ball's the Shedinja. Greta is doomed to this guy.

Battle Palace: Where your Pokmon chooses what attack it uses.

If you want the chart that tells you what the Pokmon will use depending on the nature, go to this website: http://www.serebii.net/emer...ce.shtml

When you complete 21 consecutive battles, you will meet:

Palace Maven Spencer:
Crobat, Slaking, Lapras
Watch out for Lapras? Horn Drill, Slaking can be very dangerous if it wanted to, and Crobat is no joke either. You?re just lucky it?s the Battle Palace.

Battle Pyramid: There are seven floors. You must get through the maze on each floor while avoiding / meeting trainers and wild Pokmon. Your real bag will be taken before the challenge, and replaced by a small sack. You will be able to pick up items on your journey. For every Pokemon or trainer you defeat, the floor will get lighter (like the Dewford Pokmon Gym, though not exactly). Complete 21 floors, and meet:

Pyramid King Brandon
Regirock, Regice, Registeel
Ubers...typical n00b...Fighting type moves are super-effective, but their high defenses can resist it. So stick to fire and water types.

Battle Tower: A simple, tower where you are led to a room. There are seven rooms per challenge. Complete 35 rooms and face:

Palace Maiden Anabel:
Alakazam, Entei, Snorlax

Counter with Medicham and anything that can defeat Entei.

Edit by Cross Stinger: The number of challenges required to face the Frontier Brains stated above only apply when going for the Silver Symbols. Collecting all Silver Symbols will prompt Steve to give you a lansat berry when you next see him, and you'll also take place in gambling tournaments at the small building directly south of the Battle Pyramid. To get the Gold Symbols, thus earning another Trainer Star, you need to face Lucy again after 140 rooms, Tucker after 8 titles, Annabel after 70 challenges, Brandon after 5 challenges, Spenser after 56 battles, Noland after 70 battles, and Greta after 56.

There you have it! The Battle Frontier explanation! Moving on?..

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

3.
Islands
The islands: Navel Rock, Southern Island, Faraway Island and Birth Island.

NOTE: You MUST have gotten the required ticket from a Nintendo event, mixing records with a game that has the ticket, or using a cheat device. Once you have the ticket, go to the Harbor in Lilycove.

Navel Rock: This is where you find Lugia and Ho-oh. Lugia is on the bottom floor, and Ho-oh is on the top floor. You will need a Mystic Ticket.

Southern Island: You find Latios (if you chose ?red? when you spoke to your mom right after you beat the elite four), or Latias (if you chose blue). You will require an Eon ticket.

Faraway Island: This Island is found outside of Hoenn. You will find Mew here. Try to corner it, and then press A when you meet it. You will require the old sea chart.

Birth Island: You find Deoxys here. To find it, you have to solve the puzzle. You will require the Aurora ticket.

4.Netbattle: The Basics

Courtesy of hunter15shadow

1: Its an online game
2: You can pick any Pokmon to be on your team and edit them the way you want it. Other players take advantage about this to make a perfect team they like.
3: You first pick a server you want to hang in and you request battles but some might not want to battle so dont pester them.
4: You can make you own server where your friends can hang out in and you make the rules since you are the leader of the server.
5: game rules apply but the animations have been taken off like movements and the attacks dont show.
6: HAVE FUN and dont be a person that like to break the rules on purpose like spammers and flamers.

The website for this game is http://www.netbattle.net.

4. FAQ: Written by Dark_Blaziken, modified by Master Volthawk

1) Where do you get Tickets or Charts?
A: Pokmon Events that don't exist anymore, or use a cheating device such as a Gameshark, Action Replay, etc.

2) How do you go to Mirage Island?
A: Time, patience, luck, and a Pokmon whose ID Number matches the random number generated by the island.

3) What is Netbattle?
Battling online. It has nothing to do with your game pack. Sites pertaining to this include Smogon and many others.

4) Could you rate my team?
A: No, but the experts at the Pokmon Team Ratings Forum can. Make a topic there with your team posted in the correct format! Topics made here will either be moved to that forum or closed, depending on whether or not the post contains the needed information to be moved.

5) Can you go to space?
A: No. You cannot go into space. Destroy anyone who tells you otherwise. It's not true.

6) Where is the Master Ball?
A: In Team Aqua's Base and the Lilycove Lottery.

7) How can the girl laugh in Rustboro?
A: Go to this website (added by MasterMilotic)
It will give you an extra wallpaper on Lannetes PC.

8)How can you get the Jhoto starters?
A: Complete the Hoenn Dex (exclusion of Jirachi and Deoxys) and go to Prof. Birch's lab. You can then choose one of the Jhoto starters.

9)How can you get the Regi's?
A: Oh boy...here we go...
==============
The Regis
==============

Once a player earns the Mind Badge and receives the Dive HM from Steven (or has
traded in a Pokmon that already knows Dive), that player may choose to seek
out and capture Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. This trio is collectively
referred to as "the Regis" because the first half of their names is "Regi-."

To begin, you will need to have been to Pacifidlog Town. If you've been
following this walkthrough, you should have already. If you haven't, surf south
from Mossdeep City until you can no longer go south, then head west until you
hit the town. If there's a giant island in your way, see section 27. Otherwise,
you're good to go.

Unlike almost every Pokmon, you must work to be able to catch the Regis. This
is a list of what you'll need to unlock and catch them all:

* Relicanth, found underwater at Routes 124 and 126 (near Sootopolis City) only.
* Wailord, found by fishing with Super Rod on Route 129; evolve Wailmer (Lv.40).
* TM28, Dig.
* HM02, Fly. (Not required, but strongly recommended)
* HM03, Surf.
* HM05, Flash. (Yes, it's required, not optional, you must have it)
* HM06, Rock Smash.
* HM08, Dive.

o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
SETUP
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

Okay, now you're ready to begin. Teach some Pokmon the aforementioned six
moves (Relicanth and Wailord can each learn Surf, Dive, and Rock Smash). Right
now, you'll only need Relicanth, Wailord, Surf, Dive, and Dig. Fly to
Pacifidlog Town. Surf west out of the city and head west to the currents.

Don't hit them yet!

To reach where you'll need to go, the key is to stay as low as you possibly
can. Go down and touch the current, and you'll end up in front of a fisherman.
Go straight down and surf down, into the current. You'll be swept to
a rock. Press up and again surf down into the current. This time you'll be
taken to a pair of swimmers. Go past them and once again, swim down into the
current, being careful to touch the very lowest spot. Once you land, go to the
lowest point and surf downwards again. You will be taken to an empty patch of
shallow water. Half of it is on Route 133, half of it is on Route 134.

This is the most important part. Stand in the lower left corner of this empty
patch (so you're on Route 134). Take exactly two steps up and surf left.

Dive down and enter the cavern. Swim the path. At the end, you will see a large
rock. On one side of this, you will see some markings. Examine these markings
and you'll see a bunch of dots. This is Braille, language for the blind. Of
course, raised dots would totally ruin your GBA, so this will have to do.

The Braille reads, "GO UP HERE." Be on this exact spot and surface to find
yourself in the Sealed Chamber. In here, you can find various bits and pieces
of Braille:

ABC DEF . <- period
GHI JKL , <- comma
MNO PQRS
TUV WXYZ

Yep. Pretty simple. They put it here so anyone that doesn't know Braille can learn it for the sake of capturing the Regis. Braille is used in all three caves.

Head to the back and you'll see some Braille that reads, "DIG HERE." Go into
the menu and manually use Dig; instead of warping from the cave, you'll open up
a path to another room. Enter this final room and you will see six stones, each
reading something different.

IN THIS CAVE WE HAVE LIVED. WE OWE ALL TO THE POKEMON.

BUT, WE SEALED THE POKEMON AWAY. WE FEARED IT.

THOSE WITH COURAGE, THOSE WITH HOPE. OPEN A DOOR. AN ETERNAL POKEMON WAITS.

The back of the room is what you're going for, though. Examine the Braille to
find a message that reads, "FIRST COMES WAILORD. LAST COMES RELICANTH." How
these two Pokmon are connected to the Regis, we may never know. But if Wailord's
at the lead of your party and Relicanth is in the rear, you will trigger a
moving...errr...earthquake of sorts, and three doors will open "somewhere
far away." Shazam, you've unlocked the Regis. Now it's time to go catch them.

Relicanth and Wailord are no longer needed; do with them what you will.

o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
DESERT RUINS - REGIROCK
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

Fly to Lavaridge Town. Get the Pokmon that knows Rock Smash and head into the
desert. Go south and you'll see the giant rock formation.

The Braille at the back of the room reads, "LEFT, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN. THEN, USE
ROCK SMASH." From that spot, do what it instructed you to and the door will
open. Enter the room and save!

Regirock (Rock-type) is Lv.40 when you attack it. Here's its moveset:

Superpower - Fighting-type, base power 120. User's ATK-1, user's DEF-1
Curse - ???-type, no base power. User's SPEED-1. User's ATK+1, user's DEF+1.
Ancientpower - Rock-type, base power 60. User's stats +1 (10% chance).
Rock Throw - Rock-type, base power 50. No added effects.

Ability: Clear Body (Prevents stat loss)

Curse will make Regirock do humongous damage with all its attacks. Regirock
excels in Defense; picking on special-type weaknesses is obviously recommended.
When you drop Regirock's HP to a low amount, start attacking it with physical
attacks. You will do little damage unless Regirock has been abusing Superpower.
Once Regirock's HP is at a safe level, put it to sleep if you can and start
throwing anything that's not called "MasterBall." That's all there is to it.

o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
ISLAND CAVE - REGICE
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

Fly to Petalburg City. Go west out of the city and use Surf. Stay to the left
and surf downwards until you come across some trees. Land and go around the
trees, then surf north to find the cave.

The Braille at the back of the room reads, "STAY CLOSE TO THE WALL. RUN AROUND
ONE LAP." Simply do what it says. You can run in either direction, but run all
the way around the cave without moving away from the wall. Once you make it
back to the center of the Braille, the door will open. Enter and save.

Regice (Ice-type) is Lv.40 when you attack it. Here's its moveset:

Superpower - Fighting-type, base power 120. User's ATK-1, user's DEF-1
Curse - ???-type, no base power. User's SPEED-1. User's ATK+1, user's DEF+1.
Ancientpower - Rock-type, base power 60. User's stats +1 (10% chance).
Icy Wind - Ice-type, base power 55. Foe's SPEED-1.

Ability: Clear Body (Prevents stat loss)

Regice sports monstrous Special Defense, which means physical attacks are the
way to go. Ice has three physical weaknesses - Rock, Steel, and Fighting. It's somewhat
unlikely you have either on your team, but Regice's Defense is nothing special.
In fact, I wouldn't worry too much about using weakness; using regular physical
attacks will do. Icy Wind will always make your speed go down, but if you start
off faster than Regice, you'll stay that way because of Curse. Once its HP are
down to a low level, start using weak special attacks so you'll do little
damage. Put it to sleep if you can and chuck those UltraBalls.

o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
ANCIENT TOMB - REGISTEEL
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o

Fly to Lilycove City. Get the Pokmon that knows Flash. Leave west out of the
city and continue until you can no longer go west. Go up the stairs and
straight up through the tall grass to another flight of stairs. Continue on and
you'll find the cave.

The Braille at the back of the room reads, "THOSE WHO INHERIT OUR WILL, SHINE
IN THE MIDDLE." Take four steps down and use Flash to make the door open. Save.

Regsteel (Steel-type) is Lv.40 when you attack it. Here's its moveset:

Superpower - Fighting-type, base power 120. User's ATK-1, user's DEF-1
Curse - ???-type, no base power. User's SPEED-1. User's ATK+1, user's DEF+1.
Ancientpower - Rock-type, base power 60. User's stats +1 (10% chance).
Metal Claw - Steel-type, base power 50. User's ATK+1 (10% chance).

Ability: Clear Body (Prevents stat loss)

That's odd. I don't have a strategy for Registeel. Well... Registeel sucks.
It's a half-baked attempt at a balance between Regirock and Regice. Metal Claw
is a joke, it should do nothing to your beasts. Curse and Superpower cancel
each other out... sleep it if you can. False Swipe helps too.
