Well, there was a Leviathan, let me tell you my story...
I got stranded on a giant island inside of the Bermuda Triangle. So, this giant, crab-like creature popped out of the sea, and started snapping at me with it's giant claws. So I figured, 'Hey? Why not get some top notch gourmet seafood?' So, when it lashed at me, it's claws got stuck in a nearby tree, so, I rolled a gaint boulder onto it's body, and what do you know? I crushed it. I was eatin crab for days, until I was rescued.
^ Just a summary on what happened, and why the Leviathan is nothing more but a legend now.

I thought Leviathan was a giant sea serpent? And old texts' descriptions make it sound more reptilian than anything.
But yes I do believe there should be a massive crab living in the depths of the ocean. Giant octopuses must eat something.

The only knowledge I have of the Leviathan is that it's one of the Summon monsters from Final Fantasy VII. It appears as a giant blue water serpant and attacks using the power of water. That's always been the Leviathan I've viewed it as (my apologies if my posts are making less sense than usual).
