My iPOD won't do anything since I tried to restore it to factory settings. Now all it has is a picture of a plug with an arrow pointing to an outlet. Its plugged into the computer since thats the only way i can charge it. Do I necessarily need a wall charger?

yes, yes you do. I honestly don't have any idea why, but you do. and besides, you should just go to an Apple store to get it fixed.
