ok i hst started (so i dont know anything really about the game) ok i just ran into the dude with red eyes and beat him. then i got the cat and everything but how do i cross that river to get to the door??

Put the cat in ur house, then use the change potion on it. Return to the dungeon and switch to her(select button) and she can clear the gap.
