Ok. The old discussion is now in the general FF board. This one will be for Final Fantasy VII, and the other games in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII.
So, did anyone ever play DoC: Lost Episode? I don't know if we got it in the UK
My dad's friend had the game back in 1998/99 (can't remember). Anyway, he lent the game to me because he couldn't figure out how to get into the No.1 Mako Reactor. I managed to figure it out (you had to talk to Biggs and Jessie so they could enter to pass codes) after about a week (as I was playing the game on a relatively small TV at the time and I didn't realise that pressing O would enable you to talk to people, as I had never played an RPG or anything of the sort before and I was used to conversations being automatically initiated once whoever you have to talk to is approached).
We didn't see my dad's friend for a couple of months after that, and by the time we did I was well over halfway through the game (looking for the Key to the Ancients) and I forgot to take the game with me when we visited. My dad's friend then said I could keep the game.
In 1997, me and my friend went to a game shop, and he was going to buy two random games to try. He got this and Johnny Bazookatone. So the first time I saw it was watching him. Of course, my friend had his strange sense of humour, so we named the characters silly names (Barret = Hairy Ballsack etc.)
He got stuck on the first boss (thanks to the engrish dialogue). So much for that.
That's true. The Japanese tend to idolise a lot of western characters (eg Solid Snake of Metal Gear was modeled off of Snake Plisskin of Escape From New York/LA)
Nah, but his father Naked Snake (Big Boss, who looks identical) does. In MGS2, he fakes his name, and calls himself Iroquis Pliskin. Hideo Kojima admitted the influence.
Yeah, I saw the movie. It's pretty good. Much better than that horrendous The Spirits Within
