I use the GameCube Controller and the Wiimote+Nun Chuck.
The Wiimote on it's side i don't like it.
I find the Nun Chuck better.
So i use the GC & Nun Chuck.
But mostly the GC Controller.

I use GC controller, i'm too use to the controls on melee, so I just continued with them.
Maybe someday i'll try the Wiimote+ Chuk

Classic. I hated tha WiiMote + Nunchuck, it was very hard ta do any moves with, it was hard fer me ta EVEN JUMP! Tha WiiMote Sideways was kinda good, but it didn't have enough buttons so ya always had ta press like 2 at a time an' that got frustratin'. I ain't tried tha GC controller yet cause I ain't wanted to. Tha Classic works just fine fer me after I configured it.

It took me about three days to get the hang of wiimote and nunchuk, its not really that hard... And I don`t think the GC control is appropriate since it is a wii game. try using different controls to make it most interesting
oh and coach you press the C button to jump with the wiimote and nunchuk

Oh I know that, its just kinda tedious an' distractin' ta have ta reach under while gettin' attacked. I prefer usin' tha Classic cause I made A my jump button.
