i got my info in Jan..... but i understand it... here i go (you can laugh after you read)

ok, so eragon lost his sword to murtaugh (fat double-crosser!!!) and now eragon doesnt have a sword... well, i bet that long ago, the blacksmith elf made a sword (why i dont know, maybe had a "special" dream) but he didnt want anyone to see it because they would tell him to make more (or whatever). i bet he hid it under the Menoa tree and thought that it was a googd hiding place. so... yeah

and the sword is blue!!

Actually pkmn boy, Eragon's sword will be blue. All rider's swords are the color of their dragon. And, yes, the update that CP made to change the series into four books was made after January, so I know understand you misunderstanding.

seigabata-I agree with you 100%

No problem. And I only mentioned the sword/dragon thing just to make sure you knew.

Yeah, I knew about the sword thing.

Now, on topic...

What I really want to find out is if Murtaugh is gonna turn against Galbatorix

Even if he does, it wouldn't make up for the fact that he turned against Eragon. And if he did, he would probably think he should be king and he would get in another fight anyways.

I don't think he will get the chance to betray Galbatorix. He swore an oath in the ancient language. Murtagh already worked around the oath and spared Eragon. After that Galbatorix won't give Murtagh a chance to work around it.

Oh yeah. You two are right. I forgot about his oath. But, what if he only believed he wouldn't betray Galbatorix. If he only believed he wouldn't but it turns out he will, he wouldn't be lying. You must tell the truth in the Ancient Language if you believe that you are telling the truth.

well thats the problem with the ancient language, you HAVE to tell the truth because if it's not true, then you would subconciously know. Kinda like a lie detector. So unless his word choice was vague, I don't see him coming out of it. Unless the ending has some kind of deus ex machina where there's a miraculous "cure" thing.

I think Nasuada will get mutinied (sp?).

No. You must tell the truth in the Ancient Language, but if you only think that it is the truth, but it isn't, you can still say it in the ancient language. So, if you honestly think that something is true, even if it isn't, you can say it in the ancient language. So...Murtagh could have thought he wouldn't betray Galbatorix, but he finds out that he actually will because of something Galbatorix did.

Wow total mindf**k.
It really doesn't make sense because if you know it's not the truth, no matter how much you want to believe it, your mind will still register it as false. It's like grabbing a red crayon and telling it that it's blue. No matter what it will still be red.

Edit: i dont mean to be "that guy" but it's spelt "Brisingr"

Okay...if you honestly think what you are saying in the Ancient Language is true, than you can say it in AL. If you know it isn't true, you can't say it. Murtagh may know that he told the truth when he told Galbatorix that he wouldn't betray him...but that's what he honestly thinks. Maybe later on, he will find out he thought wrong.

Ok think about it like this:

First of all the oath won't be something like "I will not betray you" it will be something like "I will obey your every command" so the only way he would be able to "betray" Galbatorix would be for him to like think he is obeying a command but not to accidently.

Second of all he already weaseled around the oath I doubt Paolini will make him do it again.

Exactly my point earlier. I suggested vague wording. But yeah, I agree. I don't see him getting out of it. I think Murtagh's end will be the tragedy of whatever book it happens in. Maybe him and Eragon will have to duel to the death. Just a thought.

Arya should kill Murtagh hehe. I mean Eragon is going after Galbatorix. If Galbatorix and Murtagh were in the same battle Eragon couldn't handle both of them so the next rider (Arya) would fight Murtagh.
