Toughest Enemy

Discuss the hardest, most annoying, or trickiest enemy here. (NOTE: Bosses are not included in this discussion.)

I personally think that the hardest enemy is the Faust. I always find him smacking me around, using very fast attacks, and just being generally hard to inflict damage on.

I think the Blitz is the most difficult and annoying enemy.

Yeah, but there's only two of them in the entier story mode. There's much more Faust's.

Still they are a lot tougher to beat and the number of them in the story mode depends on the difficulty, Faust's are much easier than Blitz's to beat.

Faust, Frost or Blitz. All are annoying in their own way. Blitz is a powerhouse, Frosts are un-hittable at times or they make themselves into regenerating popsicles, and Faust are just... Faust really, with their attacks that look almost the same but do different stuff. There's one that if you don't move, it owns you and one that if you DO move it owns you... And they look the same on startup.

If the Frosts use their cocoon use Nero's DT and use kick 13 with Gilgamesh for Dante. Faust's I find much easier with Dante thanks to Real Impact with Gilgamesh and Blitz is by far the most annoying enemy there is but Real Impact makes killing them a lot easier after their shield is gone. When it comes to Faust's the timing for dodging their attacks has to be perfect.

As Dante I just shoot the hell out of it with the Shotgun, soon kills it.
And what are Fausts again? I forgot >_<

They are the more powerful version of Mephistos.

Blitz's are a bit more annoying since they show up more often in the harder modes, but Faust's still **** me off. I can never tell what attack they're gonna do. The starting movements for each look different, but he just does them so quickly that I can never figure which way to dodge. Frost's aren't too bad. I don't really care if they cacoon themselves. I actually usually let them. It gives me ten seconds with one less target to beat the living snot out of the other one.
Blitz's actually have an easy way to beat them once they go red. Just let them grab you, and the second that they have you, flip on Devil Trigger, you'll slip away, and they'll still self-destruct.

If you are at a distance from a Faust it will usually do it's lunge attack where it moves back and charges if you see it flying quickly to the side it means it's going to try direct attack with the spikes and if you see it taking out it's spikes without moving it will use the sweeping move. Yeah you could do that with a blitz but if you like to get high scores that's not an option.

Fausts are annoying, but I never have to much trouble with them.
Frosts can cause me some trouble, but I always end up throwing them into other enemies.
Blitzes are the worst, but doing like Loony said and using DT if they grab you helps a lot.

Even though Fausts are annoying they are one of the easiest enemies to beat. I like to beat Blitz's before they have the chance to go beserk and get over a smokin rating for them which is much easier to do with Dante.

No, Faust's are the second hardest, next to the Blitz's. The knights you fight aern't really that tough, especially once you get through their shields. Faust's are just floating little SoB's.

The Knights are one of the tougher enemies for me, if theres 2 or 3 of them, I'll pound the **** out of one and get raped by a combo attack from the other 2, or I'll keep switching between them constantly, I don't take much damage that way, but it takes a while to.

The knights are much easier if the gold one is there with them.

Because of their charge attack, right? Wait for them to do it, then bounce it back in their faces. Although, if ONLY gold ones are there, it's a little bit annoying.

Yeah that's right but even if there are no gold ones all of their attacks are easily dodged making them easy to beat, their shields are no problem if you jump behind them after they use it to block your attacks.

Blitz is unquestionably the hardest non-boss enemy in the entire game, especially on high difficulties.

Bianco and Alto Angelos are really easy to beat, as either Nero or Dante, and Fausts are only annoying in that they have high HP, which still isn't really a problem. One distorted Real Impact will kill them in most difficulties once they're decloaked.

Exactly that's why it's easier to beat Faust's using Dante, the distorted real impact makes short work of all enemies and does high damage to bosses.

Well, no, not ALL enemies. Blitz on anything above Devil Hunter difficulty can survive two distorted Real Impacts, and some enemies just move around too much for it to be effective... Things like Frosts move around so much it's difficult to hit them with it. And of course some enemies just aren't worth it.
