Help, Im Stuck...!

I am currently at the point in the game where you enter the NorthernCave and have to fight Sephiroth and Jenova. After i beat them i thought i might go out of the cave and explore the land a bit more and do some side quests. But when i loaded the game again everybody was around the place where you go to fight Siphiroth and Jenova, so i went back up and got to the piont where you have to climb up a little rock icicle thing. But when i go to it, it doesnt let me climb it and therefore wont let me out of the cave, If anybody has any advice on any other ways out i would appreciate it. Thank You

You must have forgot to save after you left the cave. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to climb out especially when you did already I think this might be a glitch and there is nothing you can really do.

Edit: You said you left the cave after you fought Jenova and Sephiroth you can't leave the cave once you fight Jenova.

Ouch, I've heard about this problem a few times in the past. It appears you've gone past the point of no return.

Yeah same here but you definately can't leave once you go to fight Jenova.

That doesn't sound right. He says that he reset the game to do the sidequests, so he hasn't gone passed the point of no return. I found a bit of the route is a bit different on the way back, you have to go a different way to get back.

I think it's the second screen, the one after the winding route where you get the Save item from. You have to run through the caves to get down, but cos Cloud jumps down quite far he can't exactly jump back up. I wish I could help cos I still get lost in that point lol. All I know is that you climb up, go to the left and there's a cave entrance. I think you have to follow it all the way up to the top entrance/exit. Hang on, I'll get some screenshots from my PSX emulator, then I can figure it out for you.

My mistake I re-read again and he did say that, did you use save crystal at that point?

If only I could get screenshots, but my PSX emulator is on the blink.

Lets run through this again
1 - Went to battle Jenova and Sephiroph
2 - Restarted
3 - Loaded up save where the gang meet up for the final time
4 - Tried to make way back up, but got stuck

This does look like the same problem I had, and still have as I keep forgetting which route I took on the way down. lol. I think it's a matter of going into the bottom left cavern entrance, running up to the top of the cave, going left again to the exit. From then on you can find your way back.

It's either a glitch or he saved there once you go there you can't go back.

Right I think I know exactly where he's talking about now. It is definitely a glitch, one I was warned about when looking up the item trick during the team split up.

It's the first meet up point before they decide to split up into three teams. It says if you put the save point in that room (there's an icicle looking part to climb up if you want to leave) while the team are still there, you wont be able to get out.

What I did on my latest PC save was split up, go to last area where the team meet up to give Cloud all the items they found, but don't actually go much further than the doorway, turned back and retraced my steps. Once back I put the save point down and checked to see if everything was glitch free. I could climb out, go into the menu, jump etc.. so if you wait until everyone's split up or until after the item exchange before the save point down it's ok.

I know this probably isn't any help, but at least I know what's going on now (me slow..lol), I hope you have a previous save to go back to. I mucked up the last time by placing my save point right at the doorway to the area with all the Magic Pots and everything are. What happened is that I ended up jumping down right after, and was unable to climb back up or jump/climb anywhere else.. people who know the room know it's impossible to get out when that happens. Also I couldn't get into the menu.

I'm stuck with that glitch but I know how to get passed it if anyone's interested: before you go into that area, hold O/X whatever you use to run as you walk into it. Don't let go. Cloud will run into the room, passed the save point and jump immediately down. I don't know why it fixes it, but it does. My save point greets me as soon as I enter the room, that's probably what mucks it up. That northern crater is extremely glitchy :S Did they rush the third disc or something?

edit - suggestion: I know it's a daft suggestion as you may have already tried it, but my glitch is fixed by leaving and entering areas while running. When you load the game you're on the save point, which may muck it up like when I enter that other area I'm glitched in. Have you tried running out of the room, and re-entering while avoiding the save point?

Never happened to me, and I've beaten the game over twenty times. Odd...

I've usually gone as far as the second team meet up before you head down towards Jenova, placed the Save Crystal there and left the cave to explore absolutely everywhere inside and outside. No problems there.

That's never happened to me either and I did leave when I went there.

Lol just my luck.

The first time I put the save crystal right where Volke did. Second time I wanted to do a lot of AP training and saved where I said, it took me ages to figure out how to get passed the glitch.

Anyways it would be nice to hear from the original poster, I want to know how he got on. I'm hoping the same trick I used to get passed my glitch works the same way.

Well, Im stuck on the diamond weapon boss guy. dunno why, im gender handicapped.

You might be on a low level because out of all the weapons Diamond is the easiest.

You should focus on using magic attacks as he has a high physical defense

Definitely, my characters were in their late 50's I think (excluding Cloud who was almost 70) and they were still barely doing any damage. I totally had forgotten about it before the battle, my materia wasn't setup right.. lucky for me I was still trying to master Ultima and Comet ^_^

It would be best to have your magic materia mastered before you fight him so you can use the more powerful spells.
