Play styles.

Everybody plays with different characters. This is a given. However, everybody in each character ladder plays differently as well, utilizing their character's abilities to the maximum. Discuss play style, give tips to others to get around a characters limitations, and learn from others to develop a unique and decent play style for yourself. I'll be adding more to this, naturally.

So we state our play style?

I'm kinda a hit and run kinda guy. Not a noobish way of doing it though. I string combos together with sonic then line up for another attack.

Psycho Style: Make it seem like I'm just randomly spamming, but actually pulling off combos and landing some tanking hits. Good for Wolf.

yeah bomba is that kind of style


I myself just go with the tide of battle formulating my strategy as we fight.......

I have a variety of styles that I use, composed of Meta strategies, some of which include Redemption (rare) and Persistence (quite often). In my balanced style I use Persistence a lot (which includes "Follow Off" and a sideways spike [similar to a meteor, only in any other direction]), along with a slight stacking and stalling technique. In my more aggressive styles, I use Ultimate Redemption and Redemption, and a vicious smash meta style. Paul, remind me of other ones, other than my Juggler.

Dancing Counter is another one. Its where you preform most of Dancing Blade then use Counter while the opponent thinks you are open. I use that one too

Right, my technique that can be fit into my Faking style. Mainly, leave openings protected by elongated counter or wave-smashes.

im sort of a strategist i try not to make and mistakes that will cost me.
I basically wait for you to screw up then i wont let you rest. Just continue breaking their defenses.

Here are a few of mine.

Joker Doom - Generally mess around, don't look like you're taking the fight seriously. Works well for mindgames, and for psyching out your opponent when he realises you're winning by four stock to one.

1,000 Needles - Suddenly, projectiles. Thousands of them. Despite the name, this strategy is not limited to Sheik.

Traveller - Always keep your distance. When you're not attacking, retreat. Often used in conjunction with 1,000 Needles, but not always.

Yes, I did name these after Final Fantasy attacks.

Ninja- I stay hidden while more then 1 character(s) are my opponents. I sometimes just jump in a deal a few punches then I keep my distance. When only one guy is left standing I jump out and kick his a**

Speed Demon- I attack with rapidly fast attacks leaving my opponent no chance to attack.

Tech - I use more techniques, waveshining, thunderdrops, footstooling, clever suicides, power attacks, and combo strings. i don't keep distance at all, and stay close, always attacking.

Dodge & Grab - The name is self explanatory. Dodge, then grab or shield grab. Simple enough.

Im the kinda of guy that usally charges. And once in awile Ill go in a big combo, which means there barley scratch me and I own them.

umm my play style is... just play the game and whatever happens in the match

As for my style, i like using smashes and dont take risks. I am kind of a predator/casual combo. Sometimes I am what you call a coward, but only against REALLY tough opponents.

I am definatley not an acrobatic or an itemist, and I am better in close combat than in long range battles.
When i attack, I try to get long combos, and I am better on smaller fields than on large ones.

For some reason, I am INFINATLEY better in multiplayer than I am one on one. I usually win in multiplayer and usaully lose in 1x1

By the way, this was originally my idea.

I attack with the low-lag attacks to rack up damage(usually looks like I'm just being a noob), after that I use the high damage and knockback moves to kill.

Bait and hit.
Spam Projectiles to force them to come near and alos build up damage, then Smash or any other appropriate attack. Good with wolf.

Combo-er-ish: Just keep doing comboes then send them off. - Marth

Hey why didn't you include me in that list lol?

To be honest with you, I really don't know how I play. I mostly try to figure out what my opponent is doing, and make changes to my style in attempt to beat theirs. However in melee I knew my playing style, but in this one everything is so situational in order to get people in combos, so idk.

You cant waveshine in Brawl.
